Ive recently hit my 12 points. All due to incremental small speeding fines. If i managed to hold out until april i would've had some room to move.
I'd been very careful, knowing i was low on points after i got hit doing 110 on the highway during the christmas holidays. Used cruise control everywhere, sitting in the slow or middle lanes of the highway.
I decided to take the old HG Prem out for a spin on a sunny sunday afternoon. The Speedo has always been out, but i knew what was 60 and 100 so it didnt really matter. Unfortunatly we'd recently changed the diff, and it had totally slipped my mind the effect on the speedo. I took off from a set of lights accelerated to what i thought was 60... Seemed a bit quick so i just backed off the throttle and cruised, but it was too late. Blue and reds coming from the opposite direction.
So I've paid that fine and Im waiting for my letter so i can get my golden point option. Id take the three month loss, but i need to drive geelong-melbourne everyday to get to work.
I sure as hell hope i get all my points back after the golden point year...
