Hilux stays on top as a 'nameplate' because the 4x2 model outsold Ranger by 7,169 units over the last 12 months for an overall 4,811 lead.
It had been close between the 4x4 models for a long time with the winning margins being small either way but it's averaged better than 200 units a month in favour of Ranger this last year.

Thanks R.
Always good seeing some figure breakdowns.
I'm really happy Ranger is doing well, we've seen it poking above Hilux since '15, and from memory topped the charts in NZ.
Just observations and train of thought.
Yep Toy has 2WD to boost their numbers, thats oppositon and they have been kings in range for as long as we know and that makes them far more viable as we see by model offerings, king of the white goods.
We can crow all we like re Ranger, for lets face its all the company has got in the ball game.
I see its not great in the big picture in business.
A$ is ugly now, Ford has become a "niche" product in todays market.
Those going on about good "margins" can't live off one model alone I expect - imo Everest and Endura really needs a good kick up you know what and get more market where there is heaps more to gain still.
Then at least Ford have 3 models fighting in the main ball game not just 1.
