I'm simply pointing out that whilst the Ranger may be taking the shine off Hilux, Toyota buyers are still choosing the brand, just the more SUV style and with the light commercial segment in steep decline relying on it leaves you exposed.
While light commercial sales are down, I find it interesting that Ranger is resisting the slide,
Ranger's sales mix is clearly less influenced by forces affecting other brands, be that a
slide in fleet sales or internal conquest of Hilux sales but a bit too early to tell much.

While added diversity would help Ford, they may have to double down on Ranger and Everest
if those desperately needed SUVs are not anywhere near available for our market.
