Default Spotted 2 W427 Holdens

ok well work being where it is right up the road from the Holden holding yard. there was a car transporter go cruising down the street with 2 brand new W427 holdens. one silver and one black and very nice. straight off the truck and straight inside. like they dont want anyone to know about them :thebirds: . and even though this is a ford forum it was pretty cool actually seeing them in the flesh. no pics.. the guys from holden were a little bit protective of these 2 cars

I know my Local Holden Dealer had one there, if it was the customer i would expect then they usually make a deal with him for it to be on show for 1-2 Weeks before delivery.

There was also one at Phillip Island V8's a couple of weeks ago.... It was a dark grey one from memory. For those that were in the Parade, when we were moving into the Paddock area, it was parked on the right hand side.

I don't understand why someone would spend 165K on a car and modify it....

I thought you'd be right onto this 4V man.

Enthusiasts, specifically those that performance modify their vehicles, exist in all socio economic demographics.

Why would you modify a 165k car ???? - more than likely for the same reason someone would modify their 350K one. Because they wish to personalise it, they can identify areas where 'improvements" in the OE equipment can be made, and most importantly (and even if only short term....) they can afford to.

Make sense to do that? Probably not, but most of us seem to do it in our own way.

Looking at the results the LS7 Gets with a Cam Upgrade and a tune i can think plenty of good reasons to mod it, nothing that couldn't be reversed but still definitly personalise it.

How did the Phoon keep up? :

Impressive Numbers, with a Full Exhaust on one of those you would have to go close to 400Rwkw and the torque a 7L would be making Mmm

My F6 got 293rwkw with just a tune , Nizpro drilled injectors and Walbro pump.

Considering the purchase price, I'd be expecting a lot more from a 427 dunnydore than 300!

It's a hell of a lot easier to get gains from a motor that has a hairdryer on it. 300rwkw is mighty impressive for an N/A 8, IMO.

Its not just about what peak KW's this engine makes that's its true measure, its where it begins and the way it slams you between the shoulder blades at any rpm that has the "hair dryers" covered.

Why do people who drop half half a million dollar on F430s or Murcieliago's then drop another $10k or $15k or exhausts?

Doesnt surprise me that people modify them

I caught up with a bloke last Friday by the name of John who just picked up his new toy. He was kind enough to show me right over his new beast even though he had to be somewhere else. John told me how it was his retirement present to himself.

John, if you find yourself reading this, thanks again for your time and I hope you enjoy your new beast.

Cheers

Awesome vechicle.
How bloody good would it be to have a 7lt v8 truly awesome holden deserve a pat on the back and a slap on the back of the head for putting a bright red interior in it.
Also not sold on the front bar yet

It might go like stink, but man it looks shocking. The front bar looks like a knock off a an aftermarket Lancer bodykit.
