German brand says it will build a car with 2089kW of power, 3494Nm of torque and a 0-600km/h time of seven seconds. There are fast cars. There are powerful cars. And then there’s this. German company RSC says it is working on a hypercar that has a claimed 0-600km/h time – yes, 600km/h – of 7.0 seconds. It can also apparently get to 300 km/h in the same amount of time it takes a Nissan GT-R or Porsche 911 Turbo S to get to 100km/h. http://smh.drive.com.au/motor-news/w...829-1jhw3.html Unless it's electric i shout shennanigans !!! |

I wish companies like this would actually build a working prototype before making outlandish claims like this. Vaporware.

They also thought they could win WWII. In all seriousness like the above states, there is no way they could get the power to the ground unless the treds were like 3m wide lol. What donk would power it? A gas turbine? A 8-10 Litre W16 with 8 turbochargers? A pair of jet turbines? It would scarcely make it between petrol stations.

Absolute bollocks, those figures are not far off top fuel dragster numbers.
As if a street car with a third the amount of hp would come anyone near. |

Saw a post on FB, apparently an 8 turbo, 8-rotor rotary according to Hi Po Imports lol

as i said on xfalcon... imagine the fuel consumption of a 5 litre turbo rotor pushing 2000 hp.
then add life expectancy of apex seals. |

Would it physically possible to drive this thing?
Let's say it can put down the majority of it's power on launch, what kind of G's would it be pulling? An F1 car does about 2G I think and takes 1.7 seconds to get to 100 and even an F1 car can't put all it's power down straight away...technically it could do 0-100 in a second. It would pull some serious G's!

The power figure may not be that far fetched. The Veyron's engine (original not SS) Actually produces 3000hp. of which 2/3rds is heat.
But the rest of those figures.......

8 rotor quad turbo = 2089kw is achievable
There are a few 2 rotor 13b's making over 1000hp

LOL from elsewhere...
0 to 100km/hr in 0.9 seconds would take an acceleration of 30.9 metres per second squared (3.2g). For a 1000kg car this is a launch force of 30,900 Newtons. For a slick tyre in the dry the maximum friction factor is 0.9. The maximum launch force available for a 1000kg car on slick tyres in the dry is about 0.9*1000*9.81 = 8829 Newtons. The fastest 0-100km/h time for this 1000kg car is therefore 3.2 seconds. It would have to weigh nearly 3500kg to accelerate to 100km/hr in 0.9 seconds. Try going around a corner in that tank..... Return comment ... 0.9 friction lol. Top fuel cars get to a hundred miles an hour in a car length and under a second so they must weigh FOUR HUNDRED TONNES. What sort of stupid are you? |

I think he forgot a few little things called inertia and power-to-weight.
0-600km in 7 seconds? How much thrust does a jet fighter have again? Because a Veyron accelerates faster until the jet lifts off, and a Jet has much more then 2000kw. |

Drag cars have tyres with coefficients of friction in the 2-2.5 range, 0.9 is ultimately just a high performance passenger car tyre. If the drag car was powered by an electric motor of the same power(we are talking 2000hp+ here), it would be be only able to achieve ~half the acceleration of one with a fuel motor. Reason being: the vertical thrust from the exhaust gases of the fuel motor provide enough thrust to ~double the force over the back wheels, doubling the force that the tyres can provide before slipping at launch, but not having to accelerate double the mass, hence getting the accel into the 5g region. so 100km/h in 0.9 secs, requires 3.2g of accel or tyres with coefficient of friction of 3.2(nope they dont exist), and unless the thing has some pipes pointing skywards, I say hoax, or perhaps its got a jet or rocket engine attached! |
