Default Another NooB enginge question.

Engine gurus.

I just read this post

http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthr...t=miami+engine

About the Miami AND Coyote engine. I thought our 5.0 SC engine is called the coyote but call Miami in the States? Am I correct or is there a bigger difference???

The Coyote is the 5litre Mustang from the US. No blower.
The Miami is a supercharged engine based on the Coyote but developed in Australia by FPV.

Got It. Thanks mate.

ALL GS and GT SC cars have the MIAMI engine.
If I went to the US, they have the same engine (NA) and called the COYOTE !

Sorry mate, didn't mean to cross said lines!

Just curious if the Miami is produced in Australia why use an American name?
Why not call it a super kangaroo or quick koala?

Yes. But they're named after the cities in which they are built - Cleveland, Ohio or Windsor, Ontario (Canada). Interestingly Windsor is almost a suburb of Detroit and is almost within walking distance from Dearborn.

I could be wrong & am sure I'll be corrected if I am, but I thought all the Clevelands were made in Windsor & the Windsors were made in Cleveland?

Werent they made in Cleveland initially and then the tooling was moved to Geelong once US Production ceased?

Hence why they were the Cleveland.

Because in the late '60s Boss was common slang for something very good.
I suppose they should have called the Coyotes the Hektic 335...

Off track, wasn't the 351 the only Windsor produced in Canada and all 302Ws came from Cleveland?

The motors were originally produced at their named location. Yes Windsors were also produced in Cleveland and yes Clevelands were produced in Australia too.
