they look incredible. sat in one at wollongong ford on monday. made the ranger beside it look girly. my fiancé noted the other day that the only car I'm more excited to see than a raptor is an aventador

Have seen a few in person, black, red & white. They all look tough as, but in black they look menacing.

On Ice Road Truckers last week a Raptor towed a prime mover out of a snow bank.

Here's one I snapped at a show...

Raptor:

Length 5896 (mm)
Width 2192 (mm)
Height 1991 (mm)

Ranger:

Length 5351 (mm)
Width 1850 (mm)
Height 1848 (mm)

Yeah they are quite a bit bigger. Ranger is bad enough in shopping centre cars parks, I'd probably avoid them as much as possible in a Raptor

Even in the States, they still turn heads, especially in black or blue. Never driven one, but from what I understand, very smooth, most comfortable ride because of the long-travel suspensions, they are pretty capable, and they sound very nice. Very thirsty though. There is a new 2015 F150 coming out in a couple of months, which is a substantial improvement over the current model. There will definitely be a Raptor, but it hasn't been announced yet. I am expecting it drop the 6.2 V8 for a 3.5L V6 EcoBoost (which is a much better motor anyway), just check out the torque curves for both engines.

http://www.ford.com/trucks/f150/2015...-rtn-f150-2015

Scroll down to Q&A

Q: Is the SVT Raptor still available?
A: We’ll have more news to share about the F-150 SVT Raptor later.

Oh and would I buy one? No I wouldn't. For me, it would be useless. I want an F350 6.7 diesel for a pickup truck for pulling, I'm happy with my Polaris Sportsman 850 for my off-road thrills, but if I wanted an off-road car 4x4, it would be a Rubicon. However, I still like the Raptor a lot.

Ive seen a couple around Brisbane...honestly I was hoping the F150 went global (why wouldnt you?) then we would have some remote chance of getting them.

They stand out like dogs balls. But I agree with Giant Cranium completely.

Ditto as Polyal. There's a white one near work (very similar to the below) that looks very tough.

Yes, I've seen several in the flesh

Yes, they stand out.

I wish they were priced in Aus like they are in the US.

They make even kitted out Rangers look small, they use a regular F150 cab but are 8" (20cm) wider due to the bulging arches. The running lights in the grill and on the front corners is required because of their enormous width (like a truck)

I don't know how you'd cope driving one in the city on stupidly narrow, crowded roads.

35" BFGs, Fox Racing shocks and massive wheels travel isn't something I ever expected to see in a Factory offering from Ford.

I love em.

But I was using the name first
(Raptor was the code name for what became the Territory)

I would buy one (if I could justify $80k+ on a truck), and really like them. Try to youtube the Top Gear US section when they tested it. Its an animal. They pop up at the auctions in Brisbane every couple of months and I get a fresh photo from a friend who does their touch up work.

i,m looking at a white one and silver tom. they look pretty tuff. was looking at a new ranger but i,ve been there. they are a great truck.

then a wildtrak but can,t see why leather would cost an extra 10k and a slide cover for the tray. if thats the case fail.

and really need a tray back 4x4, but wanted extra grunt. so this is what i,m thinking. they are extremely expensive . but they look like they would move traffic. so i will take a look.

plus i,m a car freak

but didn't want to go as big as some of the chevs and dodge. don,t mind wide just not long and wide. i believe the raptor may be bit stunted in comparison .

Someone above asked how much bigger they are....don't know the numbers off by heart but see the little lights on the front guards......they're there as a legal requirement as the raptor is wider then a normal f series body.

I've watched more vids on utube with raptors then any other video.....I LOVE them

Couldn't they do a Raptor Edition for the Ranger giving it the same look?
Maybe someone could make a photoshop one if it is not to hard, to see what it would look like.

You can buy Raptor grilles for the Ranger and sticker packs I have been told, but it's not the same.
The engine and suspension are probably my favorite things about the Raptor.

Im a little disappointed that the Ranger only comes with the 5 cylinder as the best engine. It's a great engine, but I am a V8 fan.

Petrol or Diesel, if the Ranger had a V8 I'd get that one.
Honestly if any ute came with a V8 in Australia I'd get it. As long as it's a decent ute and the price is right. Those LandCruiser TDV8 utes are too basic and over priced.

But overall my main wish is that the Raptor was reasonably priced here. It's a great package for $45,000USD

The Raptor is mental all the way through, they would never spend the $$ to make a Raptor-Ranger. Nor should they when they could just make the F series global like the Mustang.

Still dont understand why that isnt happening..but...even a Ecoboost 5.0 Ranger would be sweet, since there will be zero V8 pickups in the market at all, would be a nice point of difference.

i wouldn't be looking at a raptor if the rangers had a 5.0 ltr. its a great truck .apart from lacks top end .

we have double overtaking going up a huge hill.and every bloody time i go to go past some tourist in the Hyundai or mazada they pick up the speed a little and act do the speed limit and i,m stuffed, then they slow down when in go,s back into single lanes again and then gets steeper and then we are back to 20-40km under the speed limit.

rant rant rant but after 15 years of this crap its time to buy a raptor and push them off the hill.( well i wish) so now its time to get some grunt in my truck so my blood pressure levels can remain stable.

funny the incident above only happens when i,m in my 4wd. i,d say people dont like to get stuck behind 4wds because most 4wds used to be fairly slow i suppose.

but i do wonder when there little 4cyl pulls away up a hill wtf,the ranger seems so grunty everywhere else. but like any diesel i suppose once you lose your moment its all over.

sorry for the novel

A 3.2 Ranger shouldn't have any trouble with a 4cyl econobox, especially uphill.. Hired an NA XR6 over christmas, I reckon the Ranger would be about as quick from 100-140.

That said, would kill for a Raptor at US prices.

yeah tell me about it.should have no probs. but your on the brakes at the bottom of the hill waiting for the shitboxes to pull in the left lane . so its really from about 70km then tromp it after your been on the brakes,so your revs are down. try to go past and they speed up and its a race to the single lane. anyway looks like it may be a problem of the past in about 5 weeks after waiting for conversion.

its really a diesel momentum thing( not a ranger thing) . its the only place i really fault the ranger. got plenty everywhere round town .

Have you considered dropping back a little so you can get a run on them before the overtaking lane? It's not that hard. I only have the 2.2 and I have never had any trouble overtaking.
