The Miami engine always had potential for MUCH more power. Shame they never resolved the issues on time.

Has it got a shaker sticking out the bonnet?
No, so it's not a GTHO.

I think this kit will be popular with GTF owners. Hell im thinking about putting my hand up for one for my GTP....................in 25 years when the lines between fact, fiction and urban myth become more blurred I'm sure whe will see cars fitted with these kits advertised for sale in a way that suggests the kit was an OEM upgrade.

I think it would be much better on an earlier GT.
People paid a lot over the odds for their GT-Fs. They might be more cautious? At the end of the day, nomatter how much people may wish it, this won't make your car a GTHO. |

I think everyone knew what you meant, but things said on this website are always "taken verbatim".
Too many cooks spoil the broth and truth gets distorted by imagination, people want facts when there is only rumour, so everyone tries to "out ego " everyone else's post. If you dont know everything, that's not a big deal normally, but here fact blurs into bull****, nobody knows what another person thinks, just like a spare firewall?.. meant as a joke, but there well may of been a special firewall fabricated, no one here would know anyway. Its like getting 2 identical cars, exactly the same everything, say Ford XYHO phase 2 cars, even odometers are the same, just identical cars, except one has raced at Bathurst and one owned private, and all ID tags removed...how do you tell the Bathurst race car?..( and there is one difference ) Billy. I have been told by someone who is the know that the GTHO III actually has a different firewall to XY's.
I have never personally seen or measured the internal thickness of a GTHO III firewall, but a "spare firewall" is very much what a GTHO III is supposed to have. Again, this is what I've been told. |

Thanks WarrenK. What a great pity these were not available to go head to head against GMH. Glad to see some of the former employees still working on the mighty Falcon.

This is better late than never imo !
Prodrive are/were the heart and soul of FPV, they do a great job and nothing wrong with finishing off what should have been at the time. It will be a far better fitment/correctly set up compared to anything from herrods and the like look perfectly Factory. Has me thinking thats sure.

Some initial thoughts:
- Great to see this engine upgrade being developed and offered, despite there being a limited market for it - The OEM-like installation - $25k is not an insubstantial price - Has the chassis/firewall issue been addressed? - The GTHO name might be better off being left as a legend though, given it was a homologation package to enable production cars to race |

Thats up to any GTF owners choice they would not care you not being a fan just saying.
Haha MB true. Ford17, its just a marketing speel - HO is HO from way back then, we all know what how why but you wonder what Ford would have called it IF it ever went ahead back then. This is just the best packaged upgrade for any Miami owner by those best to do it. Nothing more nothing less, some here take this things too literally.

xThat was more about Ford's allergy to warranty from the bean counters than any perceived firewall problem.
Yeah it might have needed bracing but the axing of any more performance was far more than a firewall brace.

I remember being very excited for this version to break cover, and remember the disappointment when it was axed.
Tempest V LSA would’ve been awesome.

25k isn't an insubstantial amount - if they can guarantee OEM standards, however power outputs still seem a bit conservative.
I'm guessing the figures quoted are at the engine, not at the wheels so if drivetrain loss is taken into account then all our usual KPM/Herrod upgrades still put out more power, assuming they are doing practically the same mods. Assume that this is the case to preserve OEM quality/longevity?
