Default BA ICC Repairs

The standard single zone ICC in my ute is having a few issues, As they all do over time. The AC button only works when it wants to and the CD player, Well let's just say it's a pile of crap.
I've been told it can be repaired by resoldering the circuit boards. Anyone else heard this or better yet actually done this to resolve their ICC issues?
