Default Took my car to heathcote again

Hey guys

Took my ba xr6 (non turbo) to heathcote again after getting a full diffilippo exhaust fitted last week. Best time I got was a 14.86 @ 96.94mph. My previous best was a 15.0@93mph with only a typhoon CAI, so the exhaust has shown some improvement, especially the mph. I never thought the car would go faster without a flashtune, as I noticed a lot of bottom end torque was lost with this new exhaust. So overall I'm very happy. Sometime soon I will be getting a custom tune, so hopefully a mid 14 second pass is on the way.

Well done that is a ripper of a time for just exhaust and intake mods. That mph certainly indicates your making some good power!!! What was your 60ft time?

Yeah the power is definately there in the top end. My 60ft time was 2.29, but does feel sluggish up to around 50km/h. My best time was actually 14.85 but that was at 94.5mph. So if you want to stir up troppo in the top ten list, u can use that time haha. Anyway yeah I was happy with the cars performance today. Also, it was about 10 degrees hotter today compared to when I ran the car stock.

Fantastic time!

It sure does show off others stuck in the 14.9, 15.0's WITH extractors and custom tuning.

You must have the biggest freak of a car!

Mid 14's looks very realistic with a custom tune!

Thanks mylo, yeah a custom tune should do it well. I dont know about it being a freak car, I mean its only 2 tenths of a second quicker then most BA 6's. Maybe the driving style might have something to do with it.

Congrats on a good time for just a exhaust.
Next a edit and CAI box would be good.

xphantomx does yours have lsd? How did you launch it and did you have any problems with traction?

Oh yeah, a custom tune will send it into the mid 14s for sure!!

BTW Mark if your reading this could you update the top ten list. Thanks

No lsd. I launched the car at about 1400 revs and didnt really have traction problems. But I noticed theres no "push" in 1st gear until the revs go to about 4000, so therefore I really need a tune to improve the bottom end.

Congrats mate, another NA BA in the 14's.
Don't worry about stirring me up mate, the more the merrier. I get the feeling that by the time I get back to the drags after a 6 month wet-season closure, I'll be lucky to still be in the top ten at all ;)
That said, I'll be wanting to get back in when Hidden Vally opens again next year....

Nice result mate.

I was there as well, I saw you racing. I was running 14.8s all day too, it would've been good if we could've lined up at some stage. My car was the grey EL [KENAZ.8]

What's the exhaust sound like? Any chance of a sound clip?

Yeah sounds quite good for a 6. When cruising, it's got a nice deep note, then when you hit it you can hear the cats flowing well. I'll try and get a sound clip soon.
