Default Cops 1 Biker 0

this is just so funny .

An Adelaide motorcyclist has driven through a carport roller door "Evel Knievel style" while trying to escape police.

A police patrol heard a motorcycle riding around the Seaford area in Adelaide's south at high speed early this morning.

Police said there had been numerous sightings of a motorcycle "tearing" around the suburb in recent weeks, with a distinctive blue light on the front and a handwritten number plate.

The motorcycle was not pursued by police, but the patrol searched the area and saw a roller door being lowered in the driveway of a house in Mariner Lane.

The patrol approached the roller door and heard the bike's stand being kicked down behind the door.

Senior Constable Kate Dawson said police banged on the door to announce they were there.

"They heard the bike start up again," she told 891 ABC Adelaide.

"The rider, who obviously was expecting police to quickly lift the door, accelerated towards it.

"However, police dropped the door to the ground and the bike rode through it, in an Evel Knievel style."

A 35-year-old Hindmarsh man was arrested and charged with various offences including aggravated assault and resisting arrest.

He was refused police bail and will appear in court today.
His motorcycle was impounded for 28 days.
