Boys, my 11 year old and I are going to Calder as spectators for the first time this Friday.

Any tips for newbie spectators (eg best place to sit blah blah)

Hi Melbzetec. You will be able to sit anywhere you like 'cause they don't get too many spectators at street meets. At full competition meets I always liked to sit behind the startline, a little way up the hill and slightly to the right of the track.
That gives you a good perspective of the whole track.

Make sure you take a jacket (they don't call it Calder for nothing) and don't bother getting there too early as nothing happens before 6:00pm.

Hopefully you will see some full race cars there as well, which will be a buzz if you've never been before.

Hope you and your kid have a blast.
