Most ZF equipped cars retain the standard diff gears.

Even the 9 sec ones

The ZF cars are perfectly geared but you can always play with tyre profile.

Id go taller (lower numerically) if you could, as George mentioned you can go from 26 thru to 28 or even a 29+" tyre with the right clearance and front tyre diameter to match, with the added benefit of more contact patch on the road

Like the 2.53:1 ratio the BF 3V V8's came with?

I have seen it written in service manuals but never seen a gearset and every diff shop I spoke to that services these M86's says they have never seen an M86 2.53 but yes, that would work well

AFAIK all the 3v V8's were fitted with the M78, same as the NA 6's. So even if it is a 2.53 in the BF 3v it wouldn't fit.
Only the Boss and turbo's got the M86

That would make no sense though. BA Turbo's were only rated to 450nm and still got the M86, and 3V V8's easily made more torque than that.

Apologies. I may have been thinking of the center bearing sizes between engine variants.

Just did a search and can find 2.53 in M86 size, but not in M78. So must be an M86 in the 3v's

Who wants to Buy my 2.53 M86 diff. 100% they were standard on BF 3Vs, not LSDs though....
