I remember quite a few of those. The Dicky Johnson one might still be floating around somewhere. From what I can recall ,my brother was in one of the pictures with DJ inside the plant when he did his retirement tour.

Can't quite make out from the pics but does it run a pipe down to the webers?

Seen something similar on a Jag, has a flat ish long black box running alongside of Webbers which is attached to the muffler type air intake from the non exhaust side.

Yes it connects to the webers. It was used on the Lotus twin cam engines, Cortina aswell. They were a tight fit against the inner wing so that was the solution to fit a filter I guess.
They were prone to cracking and often thrown away in favor of stacks. If you ever see one grab it, they're worth good money (thousands) nowadays.

There used to be an Ad for the falcon Ute back in the XD/E/F days. When a Falcon ute passes a Little Japper. & the line was;

"Hard Riding Little Buzz Box's just Don't appeal"

Love these ads!! Just looking at the yellow XB coupe crossing the water, trying to work out if its been "photo shopped" or what ever the equivalent was back in the day? If I look closely at the LHF wheel/tyre, it looks like there is an image of the real tyre going through the water in front of the tyre in the water that would be the tyre of the correct car going through the water that does not match up with the XB tyre? Or am I just seeing things?

Dunno, they seemed to like taking the XB Coupes through creeks back in the day so could be genuine, towards the end of the video....

Seems back in the 70's, it was a prerequisite to film every car fording streams. I know the HX and HZ van and ute liked to be shown ploughing through water.

back in the early 90's when production car racing was on, Holden had the VN/VP commodore up against the EA/EB falcons.

Ford brought out an SS EB. It was never advertised. Holden protested and a cams official contacted Ford Public relations about the car. no one in that Dept knew about the car!!!

when questioned about it. ford replied with 'place an order and you will have the car delivered accordingly'
