Saw this unusual car on Dandenong Road, Melbourne around midnight last night. Looks American, possibly a GM product. Any ideas?

Sure it’s not high end Japanese? Doesn’t look “enough” to be American.
Edit: Well spotted! |

Interestingly, when the indicators blinked, they were orange, not red like they would be normally for an American car.

4 exhaust outlets and a towbar, therefore definitely a big V8, possibly the super-secret RWD sports sedan that Holden have been promising for the last few years.

This is actually the second CT6 I've seen in as many years. The first one I saw was in 2017, during the day, and it was the pre-facelift model (which is why I didn't recognise this one). Why are they testing so many CT6s in Australia?
Anyway the first time I saw one, we were sitting in traffic, so I put down my window and tried to ask the guy about it, but he was rather unfriendly. Didn't seem to want to talk about it much. I mean really, if you don't want people asking you about your car, don't drive around in a Cadillac... |

I'm fairly sure the silver car is a XTS. It's FWD.

Because GM do a lot of testing and calibration in Aus. Just because we see them here doesn't mean that they will be sold here.
It just gives local motor noters something to write about, false hope that GM just might have something good coming up, and a warm fuzzy feeling that GM knows where Aus is, even though they don't give a stuff about Holden's problems with rubbish cars. |

A few of them getting around in the Melbourne suburbs. With a LEFT HAND DRIVE sticker on the windscreen or rear bumper. Seen one in black, one silver and one white so far this year.

Not a bad looking car with exception to the long lights at the front and rear.
