I was told by their rep on Friday, they’re shortly to roll out their own twice-daily Sydney delivery service to the trade.
At the moment I feel they’re in a good zone, they seem to be trying to keep or improve their parts quality - improved market responsiveness could see them win more sales over similar enterprises. Would be interesting to know if there’s cash or just a shedload of credit behind this push. |

I purchase a lot of Machter stuff but their quality is all over the place. Some is good & well priced, some is just junk & some overpriced, but the biggest drama is their cataloging. Every 2nd item is not correct for model.

Cousin in Sydney runs a workshop and used to use them for Euro suspension parts (mostly BMW) but the quality wasn't there (and cheaper to use Pelican or Rockauto for actual OEM parts).

If you can afford to schedule repairs, yes, there are cheaper options overseas but a lot of workshop jobs are “reactive” and price conscious. We also use Tooley’s, Imparts, EAI regularly.
A recent example involved a clockspring with (failed) integrated steering angle sensor. One third the dealer cost from Machter, delivered next morning and everyone was happy. |
