Default Unique Performance - Gone in 60 seconds???

Remember the mob that built the Eleanor GT500E:
http://www.uniqueperformanceproducts.com/

Seems they are in a little bit of trouble:
http://cbs11tv.com/local/Unique.Perf....2.642971.html

"Celebrities, star athletes and wealthy business people all paid a North Texas company big money for a one-of-a-kind collectible. But police say they got scammed.

In a story you will only see on cbs11tv.com, we reveal the high profile victims and the amazing twist that has the Texas Governor and federal investigators paying very close attention.

A company called Unique Performance in Farmers Branch built vintage muscle cars. But now that company is in bankruptcy, leaving high profile clients out more than $39-million."

They were featured on the TV show Rides. Jason Giambi got a super snake and in an interview after the show on there website he stated he loved the car and everything was perfect...

Wonder what went so wrong and downhill for unique.

The probelm with Unique is they have an extremely small team and only produce 1 car at a time. Also they are paided by ford to keep the numbers down so its exclusive

This is really sad for the people that worked on these vehicles, however, you can bet your last $20 that they will be the last ones to see any of their money.

thats very sad for those who forked out the money for one

id want blood if it was 100k and 2 years for a shell made by prisoners with 13 gallons of putty and the vin's taken off

it seemed like a company which wouldnt not be able to supply the demand, and would possibly get more than a 10% deposit up front which meants its all paid for, just have to build it... they took shortcuts and got to greedy, now they and everyone else pays

The saga going back to October is on the PF news site:
http://tinyurl.com/39hrkv

Foose & Shelby lost a lot of money in the deal too, maybe that's why Shelby's now suing the car club using his name...

God i didnt know it was this big. You have heaps of interesting articles about this.

It's a shame for the everyone involved. I wonder what tiped them down hill because Carrol had an article ages ago saying he was extremly impressed by Unique and he even hand signed every dash and even ford allowed them to put a nice ID plate on the car.

Unique got to popular to sustain its supply.

Supply and Demand is the name of the game. Unfortunalty for Unique the Demand was there by Unique could supply the product!
