Thanks BHDOGS. I think, however, your post is going to be even less popular than my initial complaint.
I'll add though I am not against hooning laws, if one is performing unsafe behaviour that risks the safety of others they deserve everything they get. Bit different to my situation which was totally non-dangerous and effected total of ZERO people. |

Falconboy fight it at court. I would. Parking inspectors are shifty. Yes you did not get a ticket, but you were not parked there for more than an hour.

I truly believe I should have been given a warning upon review given my PERFECT driving record since I got my licence 18 years ago and I'd like to think the court would agree. The problem is whether I have the balls to stand up in court and argue my case over a measley $88 (which is a nice meal out!) just based on the principle of the matter. |

The inspectors would have a log on when they patrol. Every street/car park they walk down should be noted with time. If you can see they did not go past your car twice how can they prove you were parked more than the limit.
But it depends on what they have also fined you for. Was it not displaying a valid ticket or was it parking longer than an hour? Do you have the original ticket? With the perfect driving recording. Parking fines issued by council and fines issued by police are 2 different matters. You could be the worst driver and have hundreads of speeding fines it would not be used in a parking fine case. |

Same deal, never had a parking fine, Office of State Revenue would know that by their records......not that they give 2 hoots, quite clearly!

What offence is written on the fine? Does it say something like "fail to display ticket" or is it an offence for staying longer than an hour?
If its the first, all the advice your getting about routes the inspectors were walking are irrelevant - because the offence is the fact you didn't display, not the fact you were there longer than an hour. |

Dispute it. With a bit of luck you get a hearing date soon after the mention date and when the prosecutor asks for a further adjournment you object. Case dismissed.
Got to love the act magistrates court. Same setup applies in nsw. |

I've now PAID the fine with major objection.
How ticket inspectors and those disgusting thieves at the State Revenue Office can sleep at night I really don't know. That's my view and if you don't like it, tough. |

You never answered the questions about what specifically was stated on the ticket.
Fail to display or exceed time? |

How is this "Once again, the revenue raisers have been at it."???
It's pretty simply, you made a mistake and you then pay for the mistake. Complaining on forums or wasting court time is not going to change this fact. You know how it works. You have done it 100's (no exageration) times before. They do not have to give you grace or show disgression. So you paid the fine, move on with life and remember to get a ticket.

Bla bla bla.
I expect none of you will ever ask for discretion or a warning if you feel you should get it. Yeah right!! I'm outta here! |

It's a simple task, get a ticket it's free.
Why do you feel that you are so important that you require an exemption?? Be a man and face up to the fact that you stuffed up and take the penalty like a man, easy really, and next time get the ticket and you won't get a fine! Everyone has a perfect record till they stuff up and get a fine

I'd dispute it by taking the angle of asking them (the council) to prove loss of income by you not obtaining a ticket, for this "free period". Chances are they can't and therefore there is no "commercial" reason to fine you. It would be quashed in court fairly quickly if they can't prove loss of income I'd imagine.
Edit: read above that you've paid the fine; might as well try writing a few more nasty letters and see where it gets you. |

How does loss of income relate to this??
So next time I get a speeding fine or parking ticket all I need to do is prove there was no loss of income and I will get off??? Got to love a good bush lawyer.
