Default Power steer return hose replacement

Posted in here as it's not necessarily specific to the Ka I'm working on.....

Have to replace the original '99 Ka TA return hose on the power steer (it's dated and has done well to survive 13 yrs). Anyway....looking for options as Ford spare is no longer available. Anywhere in Adelaide have a good selection of hoses I could check out and try the match game? Or any Ka owners know of a alternative that works?

Thanks for any help

Being a return line is it all rubber or does it have pipe then rubber ? If it's all rubber just go to a hose shop and ask for 3/8" R6 Hose. If it has a section of pipe put up a photo of it and measure the O.D of the pipe for me, and I'll let you know what else to grab.......

It's all rubber, had factory crimp clamps on it but definitely the return not the high pressure side. Dimensions are around 16-17mm inside diameter outside 25mm. (could be slightly out with age/stretching on the fitting).

Unfortunately my usually astute referrals fall flat :(

12mm max, inner diameter 5/8" needed (around 16mm), no deal. ANY idea's or suppliers welcome. Please remember I'm private, not trade, and I'm not up for buying 50m+ minimum orders ;)

Ok , you need to ask for a piece of R6-10 ( 5/8" I.D.). They will sell it at whatever length you want. If they don't , PM me and I'll send you over a piece. If it has some sharp bends you may have to put a spring inside the hose to stop it kinking as it's obviously not moulded.............

Repco has a product that clamps over the outside of the hose to stop it kinking on tight radius too....if that helps.
