We will see i guess. IF thats the way it goes-they might want too much for it, and that makes it uneconomic.
Now I must consider people and money as well, as I have learnt recently that I love cars just a bit too much (shock horror to AFF members, but death of loved ones is natures reality check).

How much is the salvage cost (ie how much will they sell it to you for).

Car found dumped, but otherwise undamaged except for seat wheels.
Boy came through better than we could have hoped for.
He beat all the odds and has no worries regarding his heart.
9 m/o when he had the hole repaired, now 11 and doing what 11 y/o do.

On your car front, i had a ba turbo.
If you refrain from going wild on mods, they can be far more economical than a standard six.

But they are loads of fun when you pour the taps on.

Or if you like smaller, a xr5 t would be the next choice ( in the ford family)

Thats sounds like a good price. But it does come down to, what you would need to make it a track hack.

I bought my crashed one back 2 years ago, and it was 4k with the front bashed in. I made the money back.

Pretty sure I have a loom here. Thats the main reason it was written off.

Its really too good for a track car.

I am buying it back i have decided.

And I am told of a BA for $1200. Just a 6cyl auto. Would do as a daily.
Yes it may have all the notmal BA issues...

Gonna buy it back and probably fix and keep now. Buy a second wreck to pinch all the missing bits off, then part the rest out.

Unless of course I find extra wrong with it.

Why do we love our cars so much???

Because its a therapeutic release of tension.
That is also why some people wind right up when bad things happen with their toys.

The Herrod catch cans are gone too.

I can't believe a fellow XR8 driver would do such things to another car the same.

So if I see a BA/BF with clear tail lights and a towbar-be prepared to be run off the road.

Heres a thought, when you bought back your crashed car and resold it, was it mandatory to avail the buyer it had been a write off? Would it have been on a write off register as it will be now? Both these things will have an effect on the resale of your car.

The crashed one was stat write off. I purchased back and parted it out, keeping the upgraded parts I had fitted.
I then purchased the subject car and fitted those parts to it.

The guy who bought the shell was quite aware of its history-a bit hard to hide. He only wanted the roof and doors to fix his car.

The subject car is/will be a repairable write off. There is no panel damage, which I think is the thing that would affect the resale the most.
Only car dealers are required to inform buyers if the vehicle is a repairable write off.
Since I have no intent of selling this car-I don't consider this an issue.

I checked yesterday and the ICC loom-the one I need-is the only one that was sold...bummer.

Get her back on the road ASAP.

I need an ICC loom and BEM first, to see if it starts and runs ok.

Not much point doing much else until then. Electrical gremlins, engine and gearbox damage are my main concerns.

Anyone got some bits, or a complete crashed XR8 that can help out?

I need to remane this Joe's XR rebuild thread.

I got a purple crashed BA XR8 ute (repairable writeoff) today so will pilfer everything I need then sell the rest.

Will have 5 V8 blocks in my shed soon....
