Cheers guys.

If something were to happen I suppose then I'd wish I had chosen another insurer then?

If anyone can just name all the insurance companies they know of, so I can get quotes, please do!

Thanks everyone.

I'm 22 and my 5.0 Fairmont is insured for $5k with Shannons, only third party though at $39 monthly.

I'm thinking of changing as well to go for 3rd party & theft and also an insurer which offers salvaging rights (worth it if you're modding with expensive equipment IMO).

I can't really afford comprehensive for a while though, it's ridiculously expensive and with third party & shannons I'm still insured for $5k if an uninsured driver hits me, so as long as I'm paying attention and won't be at fault I'm sorted.

So far the best deal overall I have found is SGIO/NRMA, for $422 p/a for third party property damage + fire and theft cover, for a V8 AU Fairlane.

Couldn't get a quote from Shannons online, the site told me I had to be 25+...

$422 for 3rd party? Ouch.

Go under your parents insurance and have you listed as an occasional driver, might be a decent idea.

Its about $300 without the fire and theft included. All up though from what I know/have been told it's pretty good.

Isn't that a bit dishonest?
