They absolutely eat steel plate!

Of course Black Friday sales saw the original item discounted to a tolerable price point; were I not halfway in making my own, I’d just buy one.

Hole done. Perimeter not trimmed, yet - but it will work as is!

I think so. My mind just moved on soon as the saw cut was finished.

So unlike the front row of a country music concert it still has all its teeth?

I just checked, yes, you can see light wear on some teeth but it would be fine for a while yet in less demanding service.

Good holesaws do what you pay for. Years ago my then boss cheaped out and if you asked for a say 25mm you'd get a bizline delivered. Right, i wouldn't go through holesaws fast because i know what not to do, but those ones were crap. So i got into an over the phone argument with the boss about this issue, he rocked up on site un announced with a brand new bizline holesaw, comandeered my makita and made an **** of himself. Went in square on the top plate of a wall, so only maybe 2mm steel. Snapped all the teeth of a brand new cheapo holesaw almost instantly. You cannot blame the drill for that. User error maybe 10%, but cheap crap was the main culprit. As for holesaws in general, well i have my personal preferences. Arbors, i like the reloads. But not the ones with the quick release pilot bit, the ones with the grub screw so you can use any brand of pilot bit. Holesaws themselves, reload ones are ok but expensive to replace, sutton or starret are my personal preference. That being said my current kit consists mainly of lennox with a few sutton and starrets. Can't really give an honest review of the lennox holesaws because i haven't used them enough to dull or snap teefs off any yet. So so far they are good but time will tell.
