Another Sunday spotto was a Nissan Bluebird TRX.
I cant be sure it was a TRX, I'm only going by the number plates, but it was very tidy

Its probably been 8 years since ive seen it on the road, but every couple of months it makes it out of the garage to wash the dust off. Its a hq Statesman. You see more utes with hq stato fronts on them then statos themselves. And i dont see kingswood utes often either.

Yeah back then there were both Stout and Lite Stout.The Lite Stout was probably a 3/4 ton.although they were sold as 1 ton.The bigger Stout was a fairly heavy duty bit of gear except it only had a 1900 cc engine.

The TRX had the small decal of about five or six international countries flags on the the right and left front guards.That was something that stood out when i had seen them new.

Yeah, from memory the Lite Stout has coil front suspension & 13-inch wheels, while the larger one had leaf & beam front end & 15-inch wheels.

My Memory is the same as Yours....

There were heaps of them around where I grew up.. Pretty sure the Hilux Killed them Off..

I've Being Trying to find one for years, But they must be all dead & buried..

No the Hilux didn’t kill them off.The Hilux was the successor to the Lite Stout,used basically the same running gear in the new body.

Lowered in Dark green and quiet but raspy exhaust was an absolutely fantastic car.

Mazda mostly no doubt helped.

They were a nice car of the time.
Even the Telstra TX5's of the same time were a nice vehicle as well.

Not sure if they used the same V6 as the Telstars.
Going on specs seemed to be identical though ... and the weights were too.

But I do remember my mechanic at the time say it was hard to get the right parts especially sensors .... as over the AX/AY Telstar V6 models ... there were like 3 revisions of the engine ... with sensors being the main differences ... and loom as well.

Head gaskets were a weakness on them ... and a right PITA to replace ... was cheap and easier to get a replacement low km engine and swap it out

Today: 1968 HK Holden sedan. Full Vic reg (plates white and green, not the original B/W plates). Old male driver 80-plus. Must have been a Kingswood: beige or salmon body with white roof.

(On the net I see that Belmonts were one colour all-over and Belmont tail lights do not extend into the boot lid. I am guessing that Belmonts are rarer than Kingswoods?)

My Dad had a HK Kingswood when I was little. Kingston Cream with a white roof. (I'm reminded of it when I see the cookie jar at work!)

The HK Kingswoods had an extension of the taillight cluster into the bootlid which the Belmont did not. The Premier had longer ones and top-spec Monaros had it all the way across the boot. They were originally coloured red to match the tail light lenses but soon faded to silver.

Belmonts were rare; it seemed almost everyone wanted to step up to the Kingswood. Perhaps it was the courtesy lamp switches. The Belmont had none, the Kingswood had two (front doors) and the Permier had four!

I see one every 2nd day, my [old, 81yo] neighbour bought one cheap [$1500] from an old lady who was no longer allowed to drive. I saw a HR sedan this week. One colour all over (beige); missing the Hol part of the Holden badge on the boot, a bit of rust in the bottoms of the right side doors; venetian blind. Full reg, driver 45-50 (?). Maybe he doesn't own a modern car?

Hi guys,
I had to drive my in laws back to Sydney today 7/3/2021.
On the way i saw a Ford Capri 3 litre V6 in mint condition next to me in the other lane.

I am not sure but i think it was a 1969-1970 model, To tell the truth i can't remember the last time i saw a Ford Capri on the road of that model.
