Ford (or more specifically it's dealers) seem to have trouble selling small (read non-Falcon cars). The Focus and Fiesta numbers are disappointing in a booming market.

And the traditional small car companies are having trouble selling large sedans,

e.g Mitsui 380 and Toyota Aurion

Toyota has a reputation of being reliable and appeals more to the Asian Australian buyer than a Ford

Thanks for the explanation...have to say it looked far better seeing so many XR6's out and about and I would think that as a hirer getting one over a stock XT or VE Omega would be far more enticing.

I'd say people buy these on three things... price, more efficient in city areas and soaring petrol prices.....
