I suspect they would sell more TX RWD as a "Take the kids to 5 mins school so the little sods get fat" ride

Yeah no offence taken by me but I think we'd better get rid of the "jew-burner" description.
I think its understood that many jews and others were shot, starved, maimed, gassed and bludgeoned to death prior to and during world war two. There was a Soviet General who liberated the camps and said that his officers just couldnt believe the nazi use of "industrial methods of extermination" Im not jewish and wouldnt know a jew if I fell over one, but we should show some respect for their horrific losses on account of their identity and faith. As we should with the other minorities who suffered. They did it pretty tough. |

My wfie's granfather was part Jewish and fought to the resistance in Holland,
he was captured and tortured several times but managed to escape.. A different time, water under the bridge. |

Yes, be aware of those type of comments of "no offence / harm intended".
I once made a comment on another car forum regarding "being tight to spend money", and then received a few very threatening pm's. |

I always liked the launch ad for Virgin Australia: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F1CuemkrzFQ Obviosuly you'd need to change the focus of it, but you get the idea. Then again, I think Ford could learn a bit from one of FPV's new ads: http://youtu.be/2vUiGzup_Zs

Yes the "jeep sheep" adds do nothing for me at all - especially the one where they don't even speak english,
When i first watched those adds i was waiting for the part where those people get a friendly slap to wake up to themselves.... ( Proberly as i've worked on plenty of near new, low klm vehicle's that are still under warranty. From my experience they seem to have a much higher % of electrical problems than most other makes ). Anyway back to Ford's situation, i agree that a few well thought out and classy adds would not hurt their current stance. Cheers. |

I actually agree about the Jeep ads.
I have assumed they work and appeal to some people, but I do like hearing that others hate them too. Think there would be a domestic disturbance if my wife came home and said proudly she "bought a Jeep"................"well you better go and take it back!!!" Same same for the stickers "it's a Jeep thing, you wouldn't understand" But the point is everyone knows the campaigns and this demonstrates the power of advertising. Combine that presence with a good message and it would really help the brand (Ford) I think. Oh and the Holocaust is without a doubt the worst thing that has ever happend, ever, but I still find that name for a BMW funny. I think that is part of Aussie culture, nothing is out of bounds when it comes to making others laugh, we don't really mean it though |

I guess the private buyer just doesn't really want large cars, small, mid size and SUV are the popular ones.

I really don't understand how two Italian blokes standing on a polo field talking about an unseen Jeep is supposed to make me want to buy one.

Bring back 2 door coupe and waggon models
add engine options: V8 NA + supercharged RWD 6 Turbo RWD + 4WD 4 Turbo RWD + 4WD and why not a Diesel and have them available in all versions sedans, Utes (workhorses and wheelbarrow), waggons 2 door coupe. Options sell cars how many different holdens can u buy ? Toyota, they have about 15 different versions of Camry and so it goes with all the other cars .... > DIVERSITY, this is what is wrong with Ford. Falcon Ute or sedan .... no more wagons, V8's now only on FPV Also > PRICE, not saying Falcons are expensive, but I know they are making more than enough profit as it is, so Cut the price in the whole range, enough to still be able to make a profit but attractive enough that ppl will say, **** $$$$ that much for a falcon (6T V8 4T Whatever) ? I am getting one for this price. if you have a restaurant an no one walks in you are more likely to be like that for the entire day, as soon as one walks in, another one will do the same, and so on.... More falcons (FORD's) on the road more people will see it, will want it, and will buy it. Variety and price will lead to the volume they need .... Commercials are just a small part of it |

I enjoy my JEEP 100 times more than my falcon.
show me a FORD that you can actually take rock hopping? hate if you will.. but they arent pretend 4x4s like HUMMERS... they arent tough like Poo trolls or even as reliable as TOY TA TAS.. but the fun factor for me is the same as the average rice burner and his common cold car.. or you guys and your beefy go fast on flat ground cars.. I hate the jeep ads.. because instead of all the soccer mums buying territories or SV6s etc.. they are buying jeeps and ruining what was once a great community to be a part of.. dont see FORD owners waving to each other.. its a jeep thing.. and obviously none of you understand.

It's always an image thing.
Jeeps were cool when we were using them to fly down the ho chi Minh trail to get away from the vc. But they just look stupid all tarted up at the maccas drive thru. I am sure they make speed humps feel nervous. |

^^^^ Is that Ford add on TV ? Still yet to see it, but sounds like a good thing if it's got all the classic golden oldies in it.

I guess they were surprised by the use of technology and the planning in gas chambers. For the kids at home google "The final solution." but get your parents permission first. As I understand it, Stalin killed more people than hitler, but that doesn't make killing jews of soviet peoples right. And theres the red army, conservative estimates put the rape of German women at over 100,000 as they headed east. The Katlan forest massacre. The russian army was full of women, but they seem to have tolerated the crimes against the german women. I guess there was not much feminism in those days. History is good stuff. Jeeps are good in war, they go well during moonsoon season in communist ridden asia minor. But if the closest I can get to that is a BP carwash on the way back from the mall, well comrades, I will give the mighty jeep a miss. |

Its funny how people bag the jeep ad for not having anything to do with the car, yet, its probally one of the most talked about add's in recent time.
And what does that mean? The name Jeep gets spread around, so there is awarness of that brand.

The blinkers are on too tight for too many. I don't like the Jeep ads but they are clever. Gets people talking about the ad, invites people to see what the ad is all about, either going to a show room or on the website, either way it has made people aware of the brand which is the point. Seems to be working, Grand Cherokee sales have been doing pretty well. Jeep has actually had the best year in AU for sales in a looong time. But no, that's right the ads don't work, the product is crap...

I think we agree the ad works, just as a side note we are commenting that it is irritating
I am sure the idea behind it would be to have wives thinking and asking "would you like me to buy one?" Like you said Wretched, get people talking The worse the product is behind a successful campaign, the more it highlights that marketing works |

One of Jeep's previous catchphrases... "There's only one jeep"...
My thoughts, "thank F#@$% for that" But, obviously no matter what any of us may think of the product, the campigns work, no offense intended to any Jeep owners, but in terms of long term reliablility and resale, a Jeep can't compare to the Jap offerings. They would sell practically ZERO to the rural/remote sector, however in the cities they are considered trendy/cool and that's 100% due to a good ad campaign, nothing else.... |
