Ford are on a tight budget and need volunteers for a letterbox drop.
They have printed 500 B&W flyers on the office photocopier.

I think they should show video of the Falcon evolution, straight after the FG is displayed there is a flash of light and some pyrotechnics, when the smoke clears there is the XR8 sitting in the middle of the stage. I also have a similar idea that involves an XR8 powersliding through the projector screen.

How about a Volcano erupting and the mountain splits open and the last of the Australian forged falcon appears

TV Adv :

What about a Police XR8 HWP Car catching (outperforming) a WRX, Golf GTi.. or similar - on a bendy road !!

Catch Phrase: "There is NO escaping the New Falcon XR8"

I will even to volunteer to drive - the XR8 (so long as I can keep it !!)

Alternatively, they could just contract me to run their marketing !

Newsflash:......Officeworks was closed.....so they could only print 351 flyers. However they are confident that that will be enough, as it is an "iconic Number".

They tried that with the last Fairlane and blew it because instead of pumping out one with all the bells and whistles and making it a bit special they shat out a boring as bat chit base model and it ended up selling for less than retail on Ebay as I remember.

If they were to try that again they need to jamb every piece of kit they have into it and then stick a one of badge on the boot that says something like Finale or Finis or something, or maybe a small picture of a stylised swan singing with Farewell under it, then they might generate some real excitement about it like Holden did with the Last Monaro.

I would like to see a commercial where Aliens abduct people driving a Falcon (car and all) because it is that good and there is no other vehicle in the universe like it.

I have two ideas -

Elaborate & Expensive -
Parade the entire back catalogue of Falcon sedans from XK to FG with a few sentences/comments about each, once the FG drives off stage, have the new XR8 and G6E Turbo burst into view, smoke pouring off the tyres, exhausts blaring.(That final bit subject to OH&S )

Simple & Effective -
Unveil the newest and last Falcon with the very first.
Have the XK front and centre, tell the assembled guests about Falcons significance over the years, then light up the stage to show the full range of the new Falcon assembled behind the XK, all painted in Ford Corporate Blue.

However they launch the new Falcon, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DONT just treat this final evolution of an icon like you would some white good product Ford. This isn't just a mass produced hatch back or medium SUV. This the last EVER Falcon. Last EVER RWD Ford sedan. The last EVER Aussie Ford.

Launch it with the respect both the car and the customers deserve. Show some heart, passion and respect for a car that has endured and evolved over more than 54 years, that has a loyal and passionate fan base, a car that has been part of the Australian society and embodied the Aussie spirit.

Do the CAR and the FANS proud.

I agree with many that showing the evolution of the Falcon at an event is important. Should also harness Social Media to help spread the word around. Ford did a very good job of this with the PX Ranger.

Whatever they do- it needs to show the Falcon some respect. I just cant wait to buy my last ever "new" Falcon....its gunna be an emotional moment thats for sure

LOL, sig worthy!

I think they`ll put some effort into it, well I hope. And not like that Alpha Romeo add where the Douchebag drives off from that chicks house thinking he`s Robbie Williams.

Needs to start from the first up to the last. Make the advert like it was a preview for a Hollywood produced Falcon Documentary. Moffet, DJ and even Eric Bana snippets, or whoever, but build it up so the Old school, and the new, dont purchase it because they feel forced too, but need too.

And no Dentists buying them this time.

Thinking out side the square as always..........with the demise of FPV how about reintroducing the Ford Falcon GT in lieu of the XR8 as the money shot surprise. Make no doubt as a grass routes based Falcon these will sell like hot cakes.

Include the following basics.

XR premium trim

335 motor in manual or auto

Chunky GT badges in lieu of stickers

No need for a special front bar........as per original Falcon GT tradition use the Falcon front end and maybe have unique colour accents or driving lights......that's enough.

Bonnet stripes.........no need to worry about an over the body shrunk stripe.

Decent brakes, but keep in mind these cars will not be seen as collectables and will be modified by most buyers.

XR rear spoiler painted low gloss black......no need for the current big goofy FPV one, make it more basic and cheaper.

And basic no brainer things like Corporate Blue accents on the motor, argent silver wheels and so on, don't worry about build number plaques also.....just
take the GT back to its grass roots level and charge 60k plus ORCs and watch them sell.

Cheers Mick

How to launch the final Falcon?

If it is an auto I am thinking stall it up on the brake a bit, then wide-open-throttle when the brake is released.

From a branding and messaging perspective - i hope they stay the hell away from calling it the "Final Falcon", "Last Falcon" or anything of the sort.

Yes, it can be good (especially for Falcon diehards - we are going to know anyway that its the last though), but it could also be detrimental for the car - Especially for new car buyers worried about parts and service - no matter how well its communicated that these things will be available after Ford Aus manufacturing ceases.

Its going to be hard, especially when the press is going to constantly label it as the "Final Falcon", but you don't want to add fuel to the fire and you want some element of control in your messaging.

Prefer it if the Marketing team focused on heritage, history and evolution of the Falcon. Where it started, how it looks today and promoting as a new car.

Just my thoughts

I would want to go out with a bang and get as much exposure as possible. Even though Ford cant do this I would love to see a big blue santa just saying "ho ho ho" Then quad pipes roar to life, lot of wheel spin and smoke (dont show the actual car) Then black screen and simply state "A Surprise is coming"
