Interesting who authorised that road sign but whichever person or organisation who did should be commended, should be more of them on our roads.

A new LED flashing sign has popped up this morning off the freeway exit into Chiltern.

Keep Covid safe stay 1.5mtrs apart.

I did as the sign said and stayed 1.5M apart from the car in front. At 110km/h, I had to switch to left foot braking to "maintain a safe 1.5M distance".

Whilst not a truck it was a massive lifted 4wd who swerved at very last second at high speed, as clearly wasn't concentrating/watching the road.

Only crash I've ever had and whilst my distance to him/her at speed seemed fine, the lack of not knowing a car broken down dead stationary on a highway left me nowhere to go, as car on right and railing on left.

Bang. Car written off and person in car had minor injuries but otherwise lucky.

I no longer follow large vehicles where possible, or sit a long way back, due to this experience.

But you did state it was a "requirement' which may have led some simpletons to think it was affirmation of it being a road rule.

As per above.......

My damage was on both sides (I tried to find a gap) but airbags out, automatic write off. Still upset on car but safety of others far more important.

Yep both off and no the right side not as bad as front.

Was a nightmare as just before Christmas. Police were fantastic in support etc.

Yeah maybe unlucky on sensor but I don't know etc Zilo.

Luckily there is permanent speed cameras as you'd know, so Police knew now being silly etc. Being wet made it worse as VU HSVs no ABS

Good. The amount of time he’s already spent in remand is disgraceful. Let see this go to Court ASAP for a quick resolution.

If you read back through my posts you will see I agree with you. From all reports the guy is a total POS, long before this all happened, but he does deserve his day in court.

A lot of the charges put against him, are just the cops going after him for whatever garbage reason they can make up.

A bit melodramatic on behalf of Vic Pol, was it really necessary to have an out of sessions Hearing, given the incident happened months ago. Looks like VicPol are attempting to "throw the kitchen sink" at anyone who they think may have an involvement in the incident. I'm surprised the prosecutor haven't charged Mohinder Singh's dogs veterinarian for knowing Singh, through his dog......

Yeah interesting that the driver has ben charged with culpable driving etc and the truck company manager has been charged with manslaughter among other charges.
