If only it were that simple!
The entire driveline (diffs gearbox's etc) would need re testing and re engineering to fit withing Fords concervative engineering tolerances, that costs millions, not to mention all the testing and re engineering of the suspension and brakes to deal with the extra power ets etc...
The cost of fitting the blower and associated hardware might come in at 10K but the associated beefed up parts and R+D would easily drive the price skywards towards 100K and beyond...

Depends.

6 psi boost, the whole lot stock would take it fine.

We all know that the driveline can handle it all. New auto, T5/6 etc..... :

Seeings its a t 70k with a blower, for the number sold, it would work. Do a limited run or something....

Dont forget the GT is close to 70K onroad and the GT-P is close to 80K onroad so a blown vehicle could easily be 100K onroad.
Ford wouldn't just bolt the thing on and hope for the best! Regardless of weather we think it would cope or not Ford would still go through the exhaustive testing process to be convinced it would cope, the diff in the GT is marginal at best with 290KW, any more causes problems.

I hope they never make another car with the GTHO nameplate because it would never live up to the fans expectations.

I could make a new GT-HO live up to everyone's expectations of it... : but it would have to retail for $500,000 to be a profitable and viable exercise, and the Government wouldn't get too happy with the power output, although the price tag would probably have them less worried then they'd normally be.. :

Announcing the 2006 BF FPV GT-HO PhaseV

FPV has revived the legend, the car that re-defines Australian performance vehicles! After years of development, we're proud to be able to present you with the fastest Australian production vehicle of all time! Total Performance!

Exterior
The GT-HO features unique V8 Supercar inspired body features, with a carbon fibre bonnet and rear wing, and 19" magnesium alloy wheels, measuring 12 inches in width in the rear, and 9.5 inches in width at the front, coated with 345/30 ZR19 tyres at the back and 285/40 ZR19's at the front. Using lightweight carbon fibre and fibreglass components, we have managed to keep the weight of the GT-HO at 1825kg, as the GT and GT-P are.

Interior
FPV takes luxury to new heights, with fully electronically adjustable heated leather seats at the front, and a heated 60/40 split fold rear leather seat. Dual Zone climate control front and rear, a 6 DVD stacker, front and rear LCD displays, and a multi-function ICC. Plush carpeting, and a 15 speaker twin-subwoofer Bose audio system, makes it a pleasure to drive or be driven in the GT-HO.

Mechanicals
In keeping with the GT-HO heritage, FPV unveils its new 5.8 litre (351 ci) DOHC 32 valve Quad-Cam Dual VCT V8, which has been equipped with twin turbochargers. FPV acheived the capacity by taking the 5.4 V8's bore from 90.2mm out to 93mm, but the stroke remains at 105.8mm as before. It has an advanced turbocharger setup, utilising the best of modern technology, and incorporates the VCT system, for a maximum output of 650 kW @ 6250rpm, with an awe inspiring 1180 Nm of torque from 1950rpm through to 5250rpm. Redline is 6850rpm. This was acheived using high-tech magnesium alloy and titanium engine internals. Using our advanced VCT technology, the engine has a silky smooth idle, and is happy to drive in any traffic conditions, without issue. Power is fed to a 6-speed Hollinger transmission with a triple-plate brass button clutch, or a heavily modified 6-speed ZF automatic transmission. It is taken through to another legendary item revived by FPV... a 9" Limited Slip Differential, available with ratio's 3.23:1, 3.46:1 or 3.73:1.

Performance
We knew that when we revived the GT-HO, it had to have earth shattering performance. So we tested it in several conditions. With a power to weight ratio of 356kW/tonne, there are not many cars on the road able to keep up with the GT-HO. On our test track, we managed a 0-100km/h time of 3.82 seconds, and a 1/4 mile blast of 10.41 seconds at 206km/h. The car continues to accelerate to a stop speed of 345km/h, made possible by the V8 Supercar inspired aero-dynamic enhancements. We then ran the GT-HO on our test track against an FPR V8 Supercar, and to our surprise, the GT-HO was 3 seconds faster per lap. This firmly cements it as Australia's fastest ever production car, and the fastest four-door sedan in the world.

Considering its an FPR car, thats not much of an achievement....

I think a kid on a tricycle could probably outcorner one of their cars ;)

What about emmission compliance?
How does it work at -10 deg or at 50 deg?
What about in smoggy/smokey air, or at altitude, or in 100% humidity, or with contaminated fuel, or any of the other 40 squillion environmental conditions?

Will all of the drive train hold up and are there any extrememly weird and unpredictable side effects (e.g. F6 clutch problem)?
How will it go after 2.9 years and 95,000km (and still in warranty)?

How does this super car handle when carrying 5 fat bastards and boot full of cement bags? (I wonder why porsches dont have lots of seat or boot space)
What happens when it hits a generic council pothole?

Do you really think that FPV send their engineers up into the freezing mountains and into the stinking hot desert for holidays (the beer is pretty good at Tennent Ck though)

The development costs of any new model is staggering, where do you think the $500,000,000 went on the BA?

XR6 turbo, grab a AU VCT, whack on an extra cam, find a turbo kit from CAPA or whomever (well all turbos are the same aren't they), stick a nifty semi manual shift on the gear box, change the dies for the bonnet & boot, bit of new plastic here & there and bingo........

Or NOT......

You wouldn't need to have a better drive train, Ford will just re-program the computer so it don't break anything.
It seams to be the answer for all weak Components.... if not strong enough we tell the computer to make the owner go easy on it, with more truncation.

Well the new BMW M5 allows you to either lock up or unleash another 73 kw at the press of a button, although I suspect the components in the car can withstand the 373kw it's putting out in top form.
