At present - West Coast beginning counting - it's looking like Trump will win US election

That will throw cat amongst pigeons of EV policy in the states.

Start chuckling cos here's the day 1 agenda and it can be done by executive order:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lxc04ZO7ufA&t=229s

Wildcard is Elon getting close to Donny, Tesla will probably get special treatment.

its a damn mighty HOOT !
What a friggin win - Elon made the call long call ago backing the horse he knew would agree making a special under the table agreement no doubt about it.
Never know what it is but you can bet his brand will have Import protection of some kind and other EV competitors not.

Yep it might be tied to 'so long as you build it in America'.

They're going to drill on day 1.

Also, this win is bigger than the 1980 Reagan win apparently - look what happened to all the late 1970s green tech developed under Carter, and what happened with oil, when that occurred.

In the end Farley's still an Idiot!
Still talking crap about how good EV sales are while repurposing a plant in Canada from building EV's to F350's & shutting down another shift for EV's in Michigan
Never seen a CEO with less vision

So does the average onlyfans 'model' on the Gold Coast, quest is probably going to still be in his job in 12 months where as Jim Farley will be ousted and onto his next company to ruin because Ford CEO's never seem to go the distance before being replaced

if we determine whose an idiot by income then that puts this entire forum somewhere below that Mensa candidate Kanye West and all our politicians in Canberra.

The manual gearbox in the i30 is fine out my way, it's no good in suburbia if you have ligament issues with your left knee.

I haven't picked it up yet, maybe sometime next week...

One imagines if Ford still made hatches you'd have purchased Ford hatches instead of Hyundai and Mazda hatches post Fiesta ST

The new car is a sedan but yes

The Mazda3 hatch is nice but I wanted the extra boot space for suitcases…

Sold all my shares in Ford when they started talking billions investment in EV's.
Used the money to buy Nvidia.
The return numbers say I'm not an idiot
Then again I may be an idiot for buying Ford shares in the first place

If he were an idiot and I don't think he is, it's not the one being paid highly that's the problem, it's the one/or company board agreeing to pay them highly that's the real root cause of the problem.

Ratmick you picked the 3 yet ?
Rippa daily just upgraded the wife’s 18 CX5 Sport to G25 CX-30 Astina yesterday.
Perfect daily for her - couldn’t believe how much improved they are was impressed during the test drive.
We pick it up later this week and got a top EOY deal.

Agree, the 3 looks like a great product in that segment.

Drill baby Drill gets a step closer

https://nypost.com/2024/11/16/us-new...ary-of-energy/

"“There is no climate crisis and we are not in the midst of an energy transition either,” Wright said in a video shared on LinkedIn."

As predicted, USA Making Ford Expeditions Great Again approaches, can't see this administration boosting many EV grants (except maybe Elon's). Maybe Americans won't need to get back in love with small cars again?

A lot of people don’t realise that the US and Canada produce mostly heavy sour crude (Sulfur exceeds 0.5%)
which needs to be exported because the local refineries are all set up to handle light sweet crude.
See the problem?

That cancelled Keystone oil pipeline was always intended for oil exports, so this gets
mighty interesting if 47 decides to flood the world market with heavy crude, better if US refineries
could be converted to use it instead of importing oil…..that would be a giant middle finger to OPEC.

That is true, but their shale revolution produces a light sweet crude that their refineries are set up to run on, and they have this in abundance. Not quite a diesel, but excellent for making petrol. They export a fair bit of this too.

Combined with the heavy stuff, they have everything. And lots of natural gas.
