I don't mind the new nose and tail (although I think the nose gels better with VE cabin than the tail)
From side on and front 3/4 the VF reminds me of the previous generation BMW 5 series. Last edited by LeadFoot81; 10-02-2013 at 11:59 AM. |

I have to laugh at people saying "Ford take note of this, Ford take note of that". Do you seriously think they are ignoring this car and it's reveal? I'm sure they are paying quite a lot of attention to it just quietly.

Excellent interior, great features, don't mind the front but the rear is a bit strange for my liking.
Either way they have done a great job and its like stepping from VT to VZ with the raft of changes. |

The exterior has gone from looking 2002-era Falcon to 2012-era corporate GM.
The interior's a huge step up, though. It looks a little corporate GM (especially the steering wheel), but things like the blind spot monitoring, electronic park brake and infotainment system will help bring in the sheep that Holden has relied on since 1988 to buy their large car. In previous mid-life updates, Holden has taken a half-arsed approach with the interior (pretty much the only thing they changed from VP to VR was the top half of the dash). Nice to see they changed the door skins this time; they look heaps more modern than the VE (and FG as well, as much as I hate to say it). I know we only have press photos, but could we see an increase in interior quality? It hasn't exactly been a strong point of Australian cars since September 2002. Are the engines and transmissions are going to remain the same?

But what, realistically, would they be able to change for FH, that they weren't already doing?

This is actually pretty cool. I miss the days of the AU high series, with almost as much fake wood on the dashboard as a ZH Fairlane.

However, it reminds me even more of a Holden Epica.

Hi Jaguar, we like your car, we'll just copy it.
Interior looks fantastic, ***-end looks dodgy. I'd hate to be a clean freak, because keeping that interior dust free would be a mission. |

Honestly I think the only item that wont turn up in the '14 car is the HUD - although I would point out that as part of the CD4.3 development program (that's the next gen Taurus and Lincoln MKS FYI) a HUD is on the list.

And that will be the killer in the sales. they've clearly done a great job improving the VE but it just won't sell without a diesel in 2013. that's what the market wants and you have to deliver on that or you won't sell anything.

I see the the rear of the car has received the 'blunt butterknife' treatment as well, in fact the tail lights look the same as the headlamps only red..

VE CAME OUT IN 2006 . it's now 2013 . the VF looks current , it has a very nice interior , the calais would be a competitor for the G6ET .
Dont be cocky with remarks , our G6ET is nice too , but it's circa 2008 . Its obvious the holden is becoming a OPEL/ CADILAC , and Ford will become taurus/ mustang . The VF is a different more modern technical future car over the OOOOOLLLLD VE . Fords new release in 2014 , will follow suit . I like the VF for everything that it is , ( CURRENT) . i cant compare it to any VE . i cant say i'll buy one over a falcon , because the falcon this competes with wont be seen for some time . I'M STUMPED THOUGH , I WOULD THINK THIS IS AN AMERICAN RELEASE / CAR WTF !!! dont you feel a little second rate when an aussie car is released in the U S f#*&^ n A !! |

Oh no, great interior. Didn't think it was possible to make an FG interior look 10 years old. So first Ford's BA exterior designer got stolen by toyota (true story), and now it looks like Ford's interior design team defected to Holden.

Very nice. That Calais actually looks like you're getting 50 big ones with that interior. Good job Holden.

Looks like a modded epica at the front. Interior looks too busy and that back end looks absolutely woeful. Honestly I don't know what all the fuss is. I will wait until I see one in the flesh because in the the pics it just looks average

Yep. Interesting. There wouldn't be a 4 pot Commodore in the wings would there?
