I think the same people who were wrong about Brexit and Trump are now incorrectly dismissing the potential impact of Marine Le Pen. People are fed up with the status quo and just want to shake up the establishment.

Whilst the so-called anti establishment movement will sweep through Frogland, the result of this election is of far less import to the rest of the world. France will be toast well before the US goes breasts up, but with far less repercussions being a failed power.

The only thing that will break the EU is the euro taking a bath due to CDS triggers.

A credit default swap (CDS) is in rough terms a form of insurance in the event of a debt becoming unserviceable. The CDS is triggered when someone defaults on their debt and the holder of the CDS is paid out and takes possession of the debt.
A more lengthy description: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Credit_default_swap The reason CDS triggers are exceptionally problematic is because there are $US525 trillion worth of them. The reason there are so many is because ANYONE can buy a CDS against a debt note, not just the relevant parties. If only 5% of those are triggered, it will be catastrophic as there isn't enough money in the world to cover them. http://www.swapsinfo.org/charts/deri...al-outstanding The US and Europe have the most exposure when it comes to these instruments, and hence why I said the euro would be toast on such an eventuality.

The EU is already dead, those in charge know it but won't say so. England will strike up numerous strategic bilateral trading deals with a few EU member states, each deal a little different from the next, each deal will be calculated to inflict further distrust towards the EU regime and its autocratic governance.
The only strategy the EU has is to plow more Euros to defend Greece, Spain, Italy etc, but the EU is kind of broke 😜 The French had best bail out of the EU because the last major county in the EU (i.e. Germany) will be writing all the cheques. |

Some, because how France plays out may well have a bearing on the future of the EU and ultimately the world. People seem to forget Europe was the world's power base prior to the US hegemony that began in the 20th century.

Apparently if La Penne gets in there will be fun for some French dual citizenship holders, she's going to make them decide which country is most dearest to them & deport them if its not viva le France'..
France is unfortunately in a inescapable immigration / refugee mess, they tried the humanitarian thing like Germany & other countries but... cheers, Maka
