Hey guys, I'm at a cross roads where I can pay thousands getting my XT FG to a decent speed, or just suck it up and buy a VE SS for the same price.
why the hell are Fg xr8's and xr6t's still so damn expensive, there's an 09 ss on ebay for 19k with 15 thousand on the clock compared to an 08 xr6t with 150k on the clock for 25 grand. times like these it sucks being a ford fan |

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Holden-Co...item43b15489e6 and yeh, ED, that's the kicker right there, VE was a huge seller while no body bought an FG xr8, which sucks because FG xr8 looks so much better and the motor is just so much cooler. Sat in a VE, interior was horse ****, especially compared to the FG, but that ve above has leather interior, which even the FG XR8's for 10k more don't have. |

The SS are a dime a dozen, that's why. They are also much slower than any FG XR6T you will find. XR8 is comparable in speed but the ZF auto gives it an advantage plus it's a much rarer car in general.
That's not to suggest the SS isn't any good, its a very package..just as common as taxi cabs. Personally I would look out for a G6ET.

The price is too good to be true. Nobody in their right mind would sell for that cheap. |

A BF auto XR8 would be my pick for $20k.
If it had to be out of the FG XR6 Or VE SS then yes, the SS would get the nod assuming it was in good condition and the Km were lowish.

when i got my fg from the dealer it was cheaper than older ve ss;ssss. not the other way round. honestly though, i think theres only two things the ve is better at, thats sound and it just looks a bit tougher. everything else the fg eclipses it at imo. |

My Brother just got a 2010 VE SS, it cost around 30 grand. Something is not right about that car.
The price is around the same for a XR8 or a SS. Try and call the number see if it is real. |

yes avoid. SS does keep their value well. Normally looking between 30-35k for a second hand one.

Hey Dezaman was just reading your post and thought about your position and can see the drama's your having making the right decision. The VE's are ok and are pretty cheap to get crackn compared to the fords V8 but the XR6 turbo will munch them both for lunch. The ford is a much more appealing car and far more comfortable than the crappy ve interior, leather or not the seats are uncomfortable. The VE does not drive aswell and in my opinion that is why they are so much cheaper than the FG. If I were in your shoes I would keep the XT save some coin then decide if you want the FG or go with a VE and you will have a bit of money to spend. At the end of the day mate its your call and you need to be happy with your decision cos if you buy the VE and hate it you are so much further awy form the FG XR dream you have......

Ve ss don't go that cheap. I was looking for them before I bought my xr6t and they were way over priced with the amount of Kms they offered. Although still a nice car the FG has a way better feel about it and I managed to pick up mine for for a price that would get me a ve with twice as many Kms for the same price.

when people say such n such car is slower the than such and such car does that mean that car cannot do 110kmh ,in todays traffic a push bike beats you most of the time.honestly how many people race their cars or is it nepolean syndrome for most people.
