Default Peugeot to slash 8000 jobs in France

And I thought the issue was bad at Ford here in Australia.

http://www.skynews.com.au/businessne...aspx?id=771136

"French carmaker PSA Peugeot Citroen has shocked France with an announcement it will cut 8000 jobs, sparking union anger and underlining the country's competitiveness problems"

In all fairness, Peugeot's French workforce is around 100,000 employees...

France, isn't that far behind Greece, Spain, Portugal, Italy. . .. Thinking recent ratings (Moody's et al) rlease means it'll cost more for them to borrow...... monies tightening....

On the other hand - a french chap operates a silicon molding factory in China, now - with growing Chinese wages and government fee's and whatnot rising, reckons its approaching a situation where is next factory will likely be back in his native France.

Greece - no chance yet for business, waaay too much government red tape to open even a small bookshop with sit-down coffee; some 17 tiers of GovCo agencies to go through in order to get the go ahead, and costly, means its too hard to bother. (CNBC's Greek Tragedy program).
