The new Falcon will be up against some rivals with a lot of driver assist technology, such as Nissan Altima, VF, Honda Accord, while the G6E will face off against Hyundai Genesis and BMW 3 series. I'm not seeking to open an attack/debate about what it SHOULD have, just what Ford is able to offer.
Which of these do we think Ford can include? -Blind Spot Monitoring - Adaptive Cruise Control -Lane Change Assist -360 degree bird eye camera - heated/ cooled seats -smart key -auto up/down on all windows -remote start - illuminated window switches -electronic park brake -Anything I may have missed Also its well documented the interior is receiving a minor revamp at best, but which areas do you think deserve the most attention? I think internal door pulls and gear selector need a more quality, substantial feel to them. |

Wish list or expected features? 2.7 V6 EcoBoost would be good with 240 kW / 500 Nm. 8 speed ZF. Standard LSD.

Personally I understand they only have shrapnel to work with , so I'm not fussed about tech. But I think they can include some nice touches and attention to detail. Like a unique key and graphics
I wonder if the fact its the last will see engineers and PD more freedom to add some special little touches, something that is unique to Falcon rather than seeing how much One Ford they can stuff in to dilute its identity. The closure announcement occurred halfway through development, and I wonder if this changed any engineering objectives. Last edited by FalconXV; 06-03-2014 at 07:23 PM. |

One thing that would be nice is hand stitched leather steering wheel and seats on G6E to make up for any techno wizardry that would detract from showroom appeal. They've admitted they're losing money, so why not give the last one a bespoke, special feel to it.

I think the FG dash is rather stylish. To me it is far superior to the VE. I don't like a lot of modern dashes that just have a huge ICC and very few buttons and knobs, just looks out of sync to me. FG dash has a nice balance IMHO. For me I'd like to see the seating position improved, front sensors, sync, and maybe some minor cosmetic changes and I'd be happy. The fact that the exterior looks to be a significant change is enough for me

Popping-sound indicator ticks inside, like in the older Jaguar XJ.
Auto-folding mirrors when parked. Umbrella storage hole in edge of the driver's door.

Yeah a Sinercast CGI block, direct injection, regular unleaded, and lower fuel consumption = rubbish . If it had 4.0L, it would be around 330 Kw / 740 Nm. Hmmm could that be why Ferrari, Mercedes, and BMW are also using GTDI technology?
