Default BA Falcon Radio Problems

Hi There,

I'm hoping you guys might be able to help me, I cannot turn up my radio in my BA Falcon to anything above volume level 17. Sometimes, depending on the volume of the particular song, I can't turn it louder than 12. When I do turn it up louder the song stops and the whole display on the radio goes blank for about 2 seconds before trying to turn back on again and then if not turned down, turning off and on again.

It makes no difference if I'm playing a CD, Radio or using my Ipod (the problem happened before I got the Ipod connection installed). This problem isn't urgent because really, volume level 14 or 15 is reasonably loud, however when a good song comes on, I like to be able to turn it up.

My personal guess is that there isn't enough power (a fault somewhere in the electrical system) to power the speakers at a loud volume level (hence the loss of screen and all sound). Then again, I have no idea about these sorts of things.

Have you experienced this problem before? What are my options.

Cheers,

Alex

Sound like there’s a fault on the amp pcb. A blown transistor that needs to be changed.

cheers
