Ford are in good hands with Alan, and if there is a saviour he is it. That includes options such as making cars for the US in other places ike Oz, evidenced by the fact that most of the 787 composite is manufactured in Italy.
Yeap, agreed and he did all that in just 4 years.

Read this on Sydney Morning Herald this morning

Looks like the Ford Family are hocking everything to try and save the company and the new Savior" Alan Mulally may not even be hanging around, he's already organising his own severance payout!!

No wonder they are having trouble over there with sales, would any of you buy this http://www.fordvehicles.com/cars/cro...dex.asp?v=html . Its a Crown Victoria and what a disgrace, you would not sell one of these in Aus. But on the other hand there is this http://www.fordvehicles.com/cars/fus...dex.asp?v=html. This is the Fusion and with AWD and V6 and a 4cyclinder available it looks good and i reckon would sell alright here, have a look at the second page of the gallery the black one with all the chrome up front, it looks great. As far as Lincoln and Mercury go they look like SShitt boxes and should be just closed down to concentrate on Ford itself. I have said it before let them build falcons over there in there own factories. This will keep the unions happy and give Ford a classy car with plenty of style and power and with all the development costs of BF already done would surely help return a profit.

Simple fact of the matter is that the Panther line of vehicles still sell at a reasonable volume and they remain Ford's highest earner for the company worldwide, not to mention they have extremely good build quality.

The Crown Vic sales is mostly taken up by Cabs and Cops. There would be very few private sales of them. The Charger and Impala are taking some police sales away from them now, but apparently they will stay in production to atelast '09.
