i just heard today that the anti-fun types residing around darlington park have succeeded in closing it down. fan-bloody-tastic. we have no tracks around se qld except the boring as hell qld raceway. seriously, they want hoons and that type off the street and say there should be a place for it. well good work killing one of the best places to do so.

Very sad to hear. These "old" style tracks are dissappearing every year. Their so much better than the politically correct mass produced tracks they make now! I have some very fond memories as a kid with the "old man" at Lakeside and Surfers. Lakeside was a legendary track, I can still remember DJ and Brocky running door handle to door handle lap after lap, the awesome sound of the old Sports Sedans, the wailing fury of the old F2's and most of all, the balls out madness of the F5000's....

IM pretty sure lakeside has a heritage order, unlike Amaroo who got sold off as a housing estate. !!!
Once The next one in sydney goes, there will only be Goulburn left. Is Eastern Creek or Oran Park Closing Next year !!!. |
