While it is good for Ford, I am not impressed by this.
Ford have had since 2005 to budget for and work on this. I am sure they could have utlised a similar LPG system as that of the Fiesta in Europe until their system was fully functional.

The delay is related to the canning of the V6 program and the short time line to get the LiLPG I6 Engine up and running. Remember 2 years ago there was not going to be an I6 ! Since the I6 was given a repreive, there have been some design issues that have caused the delay (Euro IV compliance). I think it'll be Qtr 2 2011 before we see a LiLPG Falcon. |

In all seriousness though, it's a shame the LI engine wasn't ready sooner, however it is true that they were looking at V6s a few years ago. The LI engine will be worth the wait for those who really want one, but will the wait across the board on a number of other ford products - Diesel Terry - Ecoboost Falcon etc, make Ford on the nose a little? Again and again on this forum we hear people tell their story of wanting a Ford, but there not being the right product, or the right product is not in stock! As always, we'll see soon enough. You never know though, these developments might just finally give Ford a much bigger slice of the market share. GK
