Unhappy Help with 12 slotter wheel caps.

I am not too familiar with the 12 slotter wheel and their centre caps.

Do they leaver off (with a flat screwdriver) or spin off?

I am asking cause i leavered off one and it wont stay on now.

Do you screw them in?

I sound like and idiot right?

Some leaver off and some have a screw off thread....If you can see a thread then it's a screw off. Most 12 slotters just pop on with a slight tap..If it keeps falling off then maybe your cap is stuffed.

From what I've seen, the "orginal" style ones are an "interference" fit .. metal bracket held by the wheelnuts that the cap fits into. The newer (cheaper) ones have a plastic thingy with a thread on it that the cap screws onto. Should be pretty obvious which one you have. I'd say you have an interference fit set but the tabs on the bracket are a bit dicky? Maybe try fiting the cap in and rotating it?

There is also a small hole in the cap. I assume thats to let out water? or is that so you can stick something into it and leaver out the flange to make it fit tighter?

No, the original style cap was pushed onto the middle of the rim and held there by 3 little dimples that protruded from the rim itself, the design that you mentioned is available but it's not original, it's desgined to house the centre cap's on any rim that fit's them.

The bracket i am on about must be aftermarket then , because that is what holds the caps on the 12 slotters on the back of my XC ute.

It is a round bracket that fits over your wheel studs and is held on by your wheel nuts
