What's the process these days for a revs check in Qld ?
I remember about 7 years ago it was a number you called, gave the VIN and your credit card details to get the all clear. So what about now? Is it a number, website? |

there is a couple websites that do it. Last time I did it I noticed they aren't all priced the same depending what you buy. But you can get a basic check or more detailed ones with every time the car transferred rego to new owners and write off details if its a repairable or stat write off

The PPSR is Australia wide whereas the previous ones were state orientated.
You can add/check not only vehicles to the register you can also add trailers and personal property ie boats, jet skis business items like mobile pressure cleaners , concrete pps, Workshop hoists and machinery . If you own a business and lease items to other people or other people sell items for you on consignment then you can add your interest in the item. PPSR Conditions of Use <li class="navlast"> FeesAbout PPS reform The aim of PPS reform is to improve the ability of individuals and businesses, particularly small-to-medium size businesses, to use more of their property to secure lending. PPS reform follows the successful example of other countries – in particular, Canada and New Zealand. The introduction of a national system in Australia will remove the previous limitations or uncertainty on the use of personal property as security. Prior to PPS reform, the rules for registering a security interest were different for the Commonwealth and for each state and territory. Each had their own personal property schemes with different laws and many separate registers. The PPS Register replaces the many states territories and Australian Government registers, and brings them together into one national system. Streamlining and accessibility Using the previous system to register a security interest in personal property was costly depending on the type of personal property. The overlap between the many laws led to duplication and uncertainty. Whether a personal property security could, or needed to be, or should be registered, depended on the:
The new PPS Register provides one system for the registration of all security interests in personal property, and provides a more streamlined and accessible system for consumer and business users. New rules to establish priority Importantly, personal property reform provides new rules about what is regarded as a security interest, and introduces a priority order when a number of security interests are registered against the same personal property. To take advantage of the new rules, security interests must be registered within the required timeframes. For further information about the new rules, see the for business page. |

Yes mate when you do a search it typically shows if the vehicle has been written off or stolen.
I have only added assets to it at this point... I am still amazed at how it works.

that site dash gt listed looks good, only $3.70 for a search it appears
what ive always done previously is paid $38 for a full history/revs/rego check from qld transport website EDIT: they dont do vcheck anymore. Looks like rego history can still be obtained by filling out a form at a transport centre. |
