Default Coolant leaking in Valley of my V6

Hey guys, sorry if wrong area. Now this is not a ford related mechanical issue, but what the hell am I in for when my mechanic says my 03 Sportivo V6 (which I am about to payout) has a coolant leak in the valley? I realise the valley is where the two halves meet, but what are the ramifications off coolant leaking here?

I am not able to let him investigate it at present as the car has been leant to family, but potentially what am I in for?

could be nothing more then a split hose or as much as a cracked manifold
just make sure that the coolant is keeped topped up till its fixed

Hopefully it isn't too bad. I am selling it and really don't want to have to pay big money to fix it.

Investigate and find where it is leaking from first. It could be as simple as a cracked hose that's weeping slightly.
Also, try tightening all the clamps on hoses as well.

1MZ V6's generally leaked from a coolant pipe underneith the manifold. Sometimes there's a coolant by-pass hose that also leaks, or depending on how many kms your vehicles done, the manifold gasket (between the upper and lower mainfold leaks. R+R manifold is about 90 mins if THEY ARE NOT a dealer. Not a hard job at all and depending on parts required not a high cost job.

Car has done 129k, not very much for a 9yr old car. It's all good, when I get the car back, I will take it to him to have looked at, he knows I am selling the car.
