MELBOURNE, 30 Oct, 2013 – Ford has upgraded features on the Fiesta range and the Focus hatch and sedan.
The Fiesta now benefits from the addition of Emergency Assistance across the range, which was previously only available on the Fiesta ST, Focus ST and Ford Kuga, while a full-size spare wheel is now included as standard on the popular Focus Ambiente and Focus Trend. “Emergency Assistance is a potentially life-saving service we think our Fiesta customers will value and appreciate,” according to Ford General Marketing Manager, David Katic. “We continue to aim to cascade new features into Ford vehicles and the addition of Emergency Assistance is the latest feature to join the Fiesta range.” The Emergency Assistance system is built on the SYNC connectivity platform, Ford’s customer-focused connectivity technology, which has just arrived in the new Fiesta. Emergency Assistance is free for the life of the vehicle. If a vehicle equipped with the activated system has been involved in an accident where the airbags have been deployed or the emergency fuel pump shut-off has been activated, the system will use an in-range paired mobile phone to deliver a critical voice message to emergency services operators, indicating that a vehicle has been involved in an accident and will open the line for hands-free communication. The move to add a full-size spare wheel on the Focus Ambiente and Trend models was a direct response to customer demand. “The feedback from customers was that they would prefer to have a full-size spare wheel, so we’ve responded,” Katic said. “With the recent addition of cruise control and lumbar support on the Focus Ambiente and Trend, we continually look at adding even more value into the range for customers.” Focus Ambiente has a comprehensive standard equipment list that includes: 1.6-litre Sigma Ti-VCT petrol engine with 5-speed manual transmission Torque Vectoring Control Ford SYNC™ with advanced voice control system Bluetooth®1 Hands-Free Phone Cruise Control Control Blade independent rear suspension 5-star Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP) safety rating Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) with Traction Control (TC) and Emergency Brake Assist (EBA) Power adjustable side mirrors with side indicators Power central locking Power front and rear windows Air-conditioning Focus Trend adds: 2.0-litre GTDi petrol engine with 5-speed manual transmission (optional 2.0 TDCi diesel) 16’’ x 7’’ alloys Front fog lamps Rear parking sensors Trend series badging Emergency Assistance is available from October-build Fiestas, while the full-size spare wheel is also available from October-build Focus Ambiente and Trend models. Apart from the high level of standard features on the cars, myFord Capped Price Servicing is available for up to 7 years or 105,000km (whichever comes first) on all Fiesta and Focus models. Customers can check out in full myFord Capped Price Servicingterms and conditions at www.ford.com.au/myfordcps The website provides customers with the maximum price they will pay for a standard A or B logbook service for an eligible vehicle at a participating authorised Ford dealer.
