Default Hamilton Victoria... Any good mechanics??

Hi all, especially those in or near Hamilton in Victoria. I am looking at a small 4 wheeler (Suzuki Vitara) for my daughters first car. There is a likely candidate in Coleraine in Victoria that I wouldn't mind having a closer look at. But before I hitch a ride with Mr Qantas and Vline I was hoping that there was someone down there that might know of a reliable mechanic that could take a look at the vehicle and give me a report on it. I would of course pay them for their time. I have done lots of google searching but nothing has popped out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.....

Cheers all, Brian.

Thanks Frost, I have been hitting the yellow pages and I might have found what I was looking for. But any local knowledge is always worth its weight in gold....

Cheers all.

Off topic. Used to live just outside Coleraine many years ago!
Too young to know about mechanics unfortunately!

Hey Brian
The best bet would be to ring R.A.C.V. if you wish but dont worry about racv report as all that will do is tell you the condition of the car what the paint is like and value of it and so on.
Tel them you would like to have a Road worthy done on it as you are looking at buying it.. It will cost you around the 70$ - 80$ mark but it is far worth spending the money even if you did not buy it..
Dose your daughter live near there ??
dose your daughter live in Victoria ??
Im 100km away .. If it was closer and could come to me I could do a Road Worthy on it at any time for you ..
If you want some help in arrangeing anything let me know and i will make a few phone calls for you ..

Cheers
Swanny

Thanks everyone for the offers of help. I have found a mechanic in Colleraine that has offered to do a check, compression, oil pressure and the likes. Hopefully if everything is OK we will be driving from country Vic to the Alice next week. Wooo hooo. 2000 k's in a Suzuki. :eclipsee_

I would ring the RACV joint, i used to live in penshurst, and was working for them at one stage. they have a national guide line to follow and therefore more likely to give a true report. As for the guy in colleraine i never went near that area but i was told he isn't to bad.
