Default Ride & Race For Relief

Hi All,

On Sunday the 30th of January XR Club held it fund raiser for the flood appeal at the Red Racer Slot Car complex.

Well what can I say. It was fantastic to see the XR Club back in convoy today at the first club event for 2011. Great to catch up with some old familiar faces as well some new ones too. I would like to welcome a couple of new members to the club that attended their first event today, Darren Shaw and Leigh and Ana Hibbert plus their two boys Connor and Nicholas.

The club couldn't have asked for a more positive way in which to start a new year, out there enjoying our cars, having fun and raising some much needed money for our fellow Queenslanders that have been affected by the recent floods.

Top effort to all that attended. The Club Exec are proud to announce that the XR Club raised a total of $650.00 all of which will be kindly donated to the Premier's Flood Relief Appeal.

Here is a breakdown on how the club raised the money -

1. Ride & Race For Relief Raffles - $140.00

2. Donation Tin - $192.65

3. Club Donation - $250.00

4. Bank Donation From A Clubbie - $60.00

That gives a total of $642.65. The club will round up the difference and donate an extra $7.35 bringing the total for the "Ride & Race For Relief" event to $650.00.

Great stuff everyone.

Once again, thanks to Tim (aka Urban Furball) for his kind donation to the club.

Now onto some of the winners and grinners from today.

It certainly looked like everyone was enjoying and having some fun on the slot cars. For those clubbies that weren't there the club was broken down into teams of 3 and then the racing began.

Congratulations to the winning team, Darren Shaw and Mick and Clint Taylor. Well done boys.

Fastest lap of the day was done by Clint Taylor. Top effort Clint.

There were a number of clubbies that took home merchandise. The clubbies that won the 6 cartons of beer were David Cosgrove, Peter Mastin, Laurie May, Ana Hibbert, Barry Ralph, Serena Altea and Kath Jorgensen.
