Exclamation New Model Chrysler 300C Prices.

TOP GEAR AUSTRALIA June 2012 magazine page 175.
If TG have the prices right..Ford and Holden are in for a sales battle.
Sedan Petrol. 3.5i $39,990. Diesel $45,990.
Hemi V8 5.7i $45990. Thats going to hurt Calais and G6E sales.
SRT-8 $64,990 and thats going to hurt FPV and HSV sales.
It will be interesting to see how the sales go on the new 300C!!!
Its priced very competively...

Russell admits his old one is the only car he regretted selling and he is about to go into a new vehicle (the Viper Ute will be going) but has decided to be faithful and buy another Ford (LPG) due to fuel costs and the high kms he is doing. We love the new Chrysler model but with a GTP and my new petrol Terri already in the Garage, we couldn't justify another fuel guzzler. :( Reckon these will sell well and look forward to seeing them on the road.

A white SRT8 I'd have I reckon they look awesome, not badly priced either.

Have you seen the one with the Black Pack? Awesome and tough. Brought into the country to show people what they were like and went to Pickles - sadly they ended up having to have all 3 demos put in a crusher. Couldn't get them Registered. What a serious waste. Was ready for the Auction. :(

Yes, very fair prices, and it's a vastly improved vehicle too [but putting LanciaThema badges on it was NOT cool]

Since FIAT have taken over Chrysler/Jeep they have slashed the prices and loaded the vehicles with kit, they want to be a main volume player, not a small time effort like ATECO and Benz.

Jeep are going gangbusters in sales, i am sure its going to be the same for the 300C, new GC Jeep SRT is already a sellout and not even here yet!

TV Commercial of the year too:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iHozLw6f5rI

Next on the pricing hit list is the 500 model FIAT, down from $22k to $17k they are claiming, and then AlfaRomeo

Better vehicles, better prices, customers win!

We test drove the previous model 300C diesel...the damn thing went like a rocket, handled very well for a large car, got great economy, and felt like an armchair on wheels. We loved it.
The price is what killed the deal. At the time we had a VX-II Lumina with low km's, but they only offered about $10,000 as a trade, and the diesel was worth, actually, more than the base hemi V8, up around $59,990 at the time.

From everything I've heard and read, the new 300C is a vastly improved vehicle over the old one, so it must be damn good. The new pricing will make it very attractive for buyers who can look beyond a blue oval or a lion. It's bringing a bit of reality into the car market too with imports...in the USA, a 300C is just another car like a Commodore or Falcon is seen here, nothing all that special until you start getting into the higher models and SRT stuff. They even do an AWD version in the states.

If they drop the pricing of the 500 Fiat, they're going to have a lot of very happy customers who would rather be seen in something sporty and styling as a small car instead of a bland Corolla...

I test drove the SRT8 a few years ago and it was a beast. The noise it made was just fantastic. But price, rego and fuel bills killed the idea of owning one.

The new one looks pretty good.

Love the look of the new 300C & I think the Diesel will be the pick with the same engine thats in the Grand Cherokee but a few hundred kilos less weight.

HWY economy could be in the realm of 6L per 100 k's & all that torque will really get it moving.

I have pics of the new 300c SRT and the Jeep GC SRT when they landed on our shores early this year. A white 300C and a grey/silver Jeep. Both look spectacular and from what I have been told drive well.

Chrysler are aiming to take Ford and Holden head on with the 300 and 300c hence the price reduction. I will hopefully find out more in terms of options and trim levels this weekend but initially I have been made to believe we'd be getting the 5spd auto with the 8spd coming next year.

Can't wait to get my hands on one to test.

Speaking of which i had the pleasure of giving an Abarth 500 a run last weekend. I was skeptical at the start but holy moly does this thing handle. The grip was awesome and for a 1.4 Turbo it accelerated very well. Gave the Focus XR a run for its money. There is a Ferrari edition one in Vic at the moment, the MD of Chrysler is running it.

Expect to see Fiat being sold at Jeep dealerships very soon with the eventuality of multi make dealerships being established for the Fiat group of cars. Fiat have big plans for OZ with their whole group of cars.

I test drove the previous model diesel and the handling was very soft with LOTS & LOTS of body roll. Hopefully they've done some work on the suspension.

I think it will be as different to the previous 300C as the current model GC is to the previous version might just be worth a look/ drive & who knows

Besides I am getting older & dont mind a bit of comfort these days lol

Yeap the base V8 is very nice, I saw some pics of contrasting red leather aswell but I wasnt sure if that was for a SRT only..looked nice.

Super value these things, they have cylinder deactivation? Any word of fuel consumption?

They have really picked up the interior on this one, that seemed to be the main cause of concern for the previous model.

Anyone really wanting a sports chassis should look elsewhere, sure the new model might be better but its a sedan, with pace, grace and comfort. Being auto only also IMO reflects what the company thinks about the car.

I'd love a black SRT8 to match the old hemi.
But realistically If the missus wants a new car within the next year or two. I'll try to convince her into a diesel one.

This is one of the reasons I haven't done too much about buying another FPV. I'm not really looking at the Chrysler 300 SRT8 but the Grand Cherokee SRT8. More from a viewpoint of what you get for your money. I'm not in a hurry either having just recently sold my GTP.

Chrysler always seems to be the "middle ground" for both Ford and GM fans .. The car they might buy other than their preferred make.
My ideal garage would include a new Hemi 300C and an either a '66 300 "slab side" coupe or '69/'70 300 "fuselage" coupe ..

I posted this out of interest...not to cause a ruckus....Ford and Holden are in for a sales battle. Note : not just refering to Ford...
Choice : Hemi V8 or G6E or Calais V6 ,for the same money,, Calais V V8 is $61k plus orc. ...tough choices ahead. Especially if the 300C 6 has more kit for the price than a G6 or Berlina....Then there is the SRT-8 quite a $$$$ less than FPV or HSV..as they say "competition is good for the market".

There is no contest..the 300C kills them. All depends on what kind of fuel consumption you are after, the Ford and GM guys will bang on about dynamics and while nobody like a boat I would hazard a guess and say there is no a G gauges on these cars.

G Guage in the SRT8 model mate along with a world class 19 speaker Harmon Kardon sound system, adaptive cruise and a host of other nice technology currently missing from FPV's. You boys at FPV reading this, WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE !!
