Won't need mini tubs for those size tyres...

What's the go with new dart blocks and the like.
Do you now "legally" now need to comply with current emissions etc as this is essentially a 2013 / 2014 engine? Do they have engine numbers or do you stamp them or what? |

They wouldn't have engine numbers, as for complying with 2014... Think about? It's just replacement parts only thing in the 70s in your car is the block and the head castings everything else is brand new ...
If it's a street car Stefan , his 13.5 comp and race fuel will be more of a legal issue

Again rules are clear if the engine is of a newer model than the car you must comply with the emission rules of the engine year. I doubt anyone will look or care to be honest, but just curious, I think the engine number would be a bigger issue. |

Mate I think in regards to engine block , you go see cops for an engine number. And in regards to newer engines ( complete engines out of a newer vehicles with EFI) must have a mod plate and run factory ECU.

In NSW police havnt issues engine numbers for about 10yrs, RTA/RMS and authorized agents can issue the numbers

I looked into this for my Dart block.
Local engineer said you need 2 things.... Emissions test of the engine and a noise dB test. If they come in under the allowable limits, then you will be able to obtain an engine number to have stamped on it. Mines got 13.5. but I'll be running E85 which is quite clean on the emissions (bump it up to E90 for a test)......but it would be a laugh running a pig of an engine down low on their emissions dyno. They drive a specific profile of accelerating and cruising. You'd need 6 mufflers too and catalytic converters!! Not sure if the RTA dyno guy would like to see a few power runs whilst it's hooked up!! |
