Until recently carsales had a great research facility. They had current and historical data on just about any car sold in Australia, including RRP, going back a few decades at least. It was completely searchable and filterable, and the compare facility allowed you to select multiple cars and models, and compare their features.
The depth of data varied, and generally decreased with age, but some was very comprehensive. But now it has gone. "Research" is now limited to bloggy articles written by gormless wannabe journalists, and the "Compare" feature requires that one of the aforementioned gormless have written a "comparison". It's sad that this data base, which obviously took a lot of effort to develop, has now just been junked. Does anybody know of a similar database anywhere?
