Default M7 Helicoil Kit, Sydney - Where/Who?

I’ve been graced with the fallout of someone’s shonky job, went to torque up cam caps (only 15,5Nm) at 5PM tonight and…

So - I want to move briskly, but not in a mad rush. Any suggestions for a quality product, or does anyone want to hire their M7x1 kit to me?

Cheers, hadn’t thought of them. Only found online in Melbourne and it was too late for calling Lee Bros.

I too have M7 threads in a Renault engine, but I think that they are 0.75mm pitch. I could never find anyone in Sydney with such helicoils, but 5/16” UNC are a lot easier to get, as are the bolts.

I’ve got a 5/16 UNC helicoil kit if you need it.

I’m trying to remember where the M7 threads are in the 1565/1647cc motors. Only vague memory is studs on the water pump drive’s split pulley off the cam.

Going to try a place called AIMS for a kit, they seem to have recent and good reviews plus same day in-person collection. It’s the same set Blackwoods sell.

Website a bit clunky (emailed quotes can’t be retrieved from the web shop and converted to an order) but the in-person responses aren’t too bad.

Typical fault of such enterprises, though - real time inventory fail. M7x1 is a buy-in, to order. I sighed, and coughed up.

I was honestly surprised to receive an email at 2:30PM Friday, saying my order (the 7mm Recoil kit) was ready for collection. Traffic was very average but I was at home base two hours later with my new item.

Now I can move on to the next worry; one of the bolt holes incorporates an oil feed supplying the cam journal which this thread-stripped cap covers. Ideally want to keep swarf out of the oil gallery. Thinking of trying to pack it with moly grease before drilling and tapping, and afterwards cranking the engine with a hot wire to the starter solenoid, to flush it out.
